Review: [redacted] from first home financial called our home offering to refinance mortgage payments. Went into details & considered to take the opportunity of starting the process. He gave them the prices & sent them the paper work. He was very demanding when it came to the money. Wanted them to only send money orders or wire the money to a bank number he provided. I only sent half of the money he requested wich was a total of $1268.00 well he kept calling and calling requesting the other half. Seemed like he was just interested in the money to me because he said he would not complete any thing until the full amount was recieved. thru the process he made a few comments regarding not wanting to speak to me because business could not be completed with women he would only talk to my husband. According to him the only way things could get done is man to man. After that very rude comment I wasnt comfortable with continuing buisness with him so I contacted him and wanted to cancel all services & he said No that I could not cancel services & my money would not be returned, I was so concerned my daughter then called him to try to see what was going on he was very rude to her yelled at her & treated her very rudly with a BAD attitude! & hung up on her several times. My husband also called him he would ignore his calls & when he did answer he would always hang up on him. When he finally answered him he requested to cancel services & requested his money & documents back and he said he needed a written request he faxed it over giving him 5 buisness days to respond and days later still have not heard back from him we call & he does not answer until finally my daughter called from her work number and he picked up & when she asked what was going on he rudely answered stop calling me! & hung up. This is to communicate to you in response to your letter dated ___11/06/2013_________that First Home Financial offers support as third party authorized to help borrowers in their process of loan modification.

We help the borrowers since the beginning of the process until they get their final modification.

In this case, First Home Financial got in touch with Mr. [redacted] back in ____08/29/2013_______and we explained to him the services that we provide which are basically: send his financial package to the bank, with correct financial information, fill out the application and government forms, be in contact with the bank to have updated information for the borrower and in the case of the trial period payments, be very aware and advise borrower to make (his/her) payments on time. At the end, to make sure that borrower gets his final modification, sends it to the bank, wait a few days to make sure that everything is signed and notarized correctly and at the end, we send a termination of services letter.

The fee that we agreed on was $2,498.00 for which Mr. [redacted] sent just half of it, stating that he had financial problems. The company started gathering the documents to send to the bank.

However, a few days later and with no explanation, Mr. [redacted]’ wife called the company and requested the cancelation of the service. The company informed to her that –such as it states in our contract – she had to send the reason in writing via regular mail or fax. That was the only thing requested to her. After that it was known by us that this answer was considered for her as an offense and we learned later on that she had stated that: Mr. [redacted] said that he did not want to talk to her because she is a woman. This is totally incomprehensible for us as a company but over all, as humans.

After that, There is this phone call from Mr. [redacted]’ daughter. Her attitude was terrible and started screaming at Mr. [redacted] who could not even understand why she was being so offensive. She stated the same thing: that they wanted to cancel the service and the answer was the same that was given to her mother: please send your cancelation in writing via fax or regular mail and the check for half of the service fee will send to you.

Finally, Mr. [redacted] called and stated that he wanted to cancel the service. Mr. [redacted] gave the same information to him: send the letter of cancelation!

That very day, First Home Financial received the letter of cancelation finally.

On October 21, 2013 borrower received the check for the amount of $1,268.00 and that very day, the check was cashed.

This is what it happened and our conclusion is that they did not simply want to cancel the process but to try to get some financial benefit from the company, screaming at Mr. [redacted] and threatening him.

We hope to have your expertise and knowledge to analyze this case and that you resolve not to put any record in First Home Financial.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First of all we are not trying to gain anything from the company all we wanted was our money back wich we received. All the facts they stated about us calling being rude and yelling are untruth full my daughter works at a housing agency and when she called she was sitting along her co workers she has witnesses that heard how rude and unprofessional mr. [redacted] was. He in fact was the one who angrily yelled at both me and my daughter and he never mentioned anything about the written statement until my husband called. Also when we requested to speak to his supervisor he stated he had no supervisor. So I asked your the owner and he said no and we asked to speak to his boss and he declined to give us that information I don't want anything from the company I just want it on record so others know how unprofessional Mr. [redacted] is.

Review: Started a remodification with this company and I make two payments for there services, but the bank this not received all paper work because the bank called me to fax in paper work that they needle to finish the remodification. For that reason I cancel services of First Home Financial, but they do not want to give me part of my money back. They said that I sign a document that said I lost my money in 3 days if I cancel the services. That document have not received.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

However, 75 days later, Mr. [redacted] called the company and requested the cancelation of the service. The company informed to him that –such as it states in our contract –,client right to cancel was expired
