I had a check stolen from post office, bleached, and cashed for $6700.1st Tn. has done nothing to restore my funds even though they're insured.
I had funds transferred from *** in amount of $5,000. to pay hospital bills, & insurance premium on Aug. 8th. On Aug 9th my account was cleaned out.
How did the thief know the money was there? If he had tried to cash the check a day earlier, it would have bounced. A *** report & Affidavit has been filed out by the bank. I've a ***, ***, and other banks tell me they should have reimbursed my account within a couple of days and then they file a claim with the *** while an investigation goes on. Bank manager said investigation may take 90 days with no guarantees.
Refund of the $6,700
I did get my money back no thanks the First Tennessee Bank. They lied to me 3 different times.
1.Stating that my check was not forged and it had my signature on it (which it did) but the rest of the check was bleached out and written to someone else to clear my account out. The police ***., a FBI agent, and another bank manager all agreed that it was forged. 2.When I said 1st Tennessee should refund my money and they should file a claim with FDIC to retrieve their funds, the manager said FDIC does not cover that, and the other three people said they do. 3. The manager said it may take 90 days to investigate and get back to me and I still might not get my money back. He said give him until Monday so he could talk to his boss, I said ok, and he never got back with me. Even after I filled out an *** with the bank, 9 days went by with no action. Only after I contacted the Treasury ***, *** Bank, Tennessee ***, and the Revdex.com did I get a response and results
