Can't access my money
They bought out Great Western Bank. They said the login information for online banking would be the same. That was a lie because now my password doesn't work. I've been waiting on hold for over an hour and a half to simply access my account. Apparently, they have enough money to buy out a bank but don't give a flying f if you can access your own money. Never go with this bank!

Hello,
I initiated two disputes with First Interstate Bank last week for charges in the amount of $2,060 each for a website that I hired someone to build, but never received. The person who contacted me via email was:

He said that I needed to give him “proof of a refund” before he could process my dispute. If I had a refund, I wouldn’t need to file a dispute, would I?

I told him that it made no sense that he was requesting proof of a refund. He was extremely rude to me and refused to explain anything in detail. His communication skills are terrible and he made me feel like I was doing something wrong by wanting my $4,120 back for a website that I never received. When I began to ask him detailed questions about what exactly he was requesting of me, he sent the same auto-response, making sure to add bold and highlighted text, as if to insult my intelligence. He made no effort to help me with these charges. He initially said that I had until March 23rd to provide the documents, and then 10 minutes later he said he cancelled my dispute and said that I would have to file again.

This is a time-sensitive matter and this employee had absolutely no regard to the theft of my money that took place.

I’m absolutely shocked that First Interstate bank is ok with treating their customers this way. It’s clear to me that my money is not protected and I’ll be closing down both of my accounts as soon as I receive my refunds.

First Interstate Bank has a very poor system in place that made me feel like my own banking institution could care less.

I have a credit card with First Interstate that backs up my checking account as an overdraft protection. I have an automatic withdrawal from my First Interstate debit card that ties to my account with my Social Security disability money direct deposited. The company, *** is vital to my well-being as provides the only protection I have from a financial abuser. First Interstate Bank supposedly could not reach me and to "get my attention" as the local teller said, blocked my card. I did not know. And the *** was cancelled. I had plenty of money in the bank. And if the abuser had made his move to have me committed, as he would love to do so he would get all my trust money, then I had no legal protection and the bank has been absolutely abysmal in helping me get any kind of justice. I think their customer service really is terrible, not at the teller level which is great but the higher levels are just reprehensible. What if I were a domestic abuse victim? That could have cost me my life. I had no access to my money and the abuser had free rein.

On June 14th Mrs. advised our banker that her purse had been stolen and she was not sure if her debit card was in the purse or not. To protect her, we put the card in a suspended mode to avoid a potential thief from using her card. We did not hear back from Mrs. nor could we contact her to verify if she had possession of her card so it remained in a suspended status. On July 26th she returned to the bank and asked why her debit card was not working. The banker explained the situation, verified all activity on the card and took it out of suspended status. The banker believed Mrs. was satisfied with the outcome.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not know what occurred with the debit card or not. The teller's response was as always prompt and courteous and helpful. I would hope that since I had such a difficult time with having my *** coverage dropped, after my complaint it would be addressed by the bank. Now I know I need to go elsewhere and I will. I understand that troubled people like myself are a bother and it is best to find a business who will help me deal with the financial abuse. It is a free county and perhaps I am not the kind of customer that warrants any kind of help in addressing financial abuse. I really need to look carefully at what I expect of an institution and make sure I find one who is in alignment with my goals and needs. It makes sense to me that my troubles are not worth the time to address for most places and now my intention to move to Kentucky to get help for my brain injury are now more imperative as they have a Chase branch there and they have been most helpful to me in my pursuit of justice.

We recently switched loan companies for a better interest rate. First Interstate Bank required proof of insurance and a lien on the vehicle. I contacted my insurance agency to provide the proof and lien transfer. This was done and the information sent to First Interstate. We received a letter stating that we didn't have insurance. So I had my insurance agency send information again. This time they sent above and beyond the information requested to rectify this situation. Again, when I called they said it was not the correct information and proceeded to charge my account $950 for insurance. I called the company up again and this time they said they needed it to come from main company. I also said my insurance agent had a letter of confirmation this was taken care of. They also replied that it was just a letter stating information was received. If the proof of insurance was received-they have still said they do not have adequate information. I am having the main company send proof of insurance again, but I feel this should have been rectified the minute my agent sent the original information. First interstate said they called our main company, however I feel this is not true since my insurance is covered and I have had several people from my insurance agency working on this for me.

Horrible service closed my account and made no attempt to contact me I would never bank here and will make sure all know the poooooor service. Especially the 19th branch in Bozeman Montana worst service and rude people ever!!!!!!

terrible bank, they changed the namebut stayed with the same larger bank chains, synchrony bank, but the bank had 2 robbereies by the same group, and did not pursue the criminals. either they are corrupt or stupid, I was at the bank both times when their clients turned in the names of the criminals and they did not get taken to court. I think it is corrupt.

Over a year ago I thought I closed my account, signed all of the paperwork turned in my safety deposit key, etc. Now I find out that it was never closed and they are charging me over $400 dollars in overdraft fee, not once did anyone contact me and they seem to not be able to find my paperwork that I signed. Also, my account had a decline clause in it stating that transactions should be declined when the funds are not there. I have called the bank manager but he is dodging my calls and Debbie is extremely rude . DO NOT RENT FROM THIS BANK SPECIFICALLY THE CUT BANK, MT LOCATION.

I've been banking with this bank for 8 years, they keep getting bought out, but now that First Interstate is in charge things have gone down hill. I've never had transfer fees, but they charged me $10 for moving MY money from Savings to Checking, all I was trying to do was avoid over-drafting. The welcome packet said there was a 40 cent charge, NOT $10! So I decided to close my account. Turns out the teller didn't actually close it out, so I've been accumulating over draft charges for 45 days. I called them and it takes about 48 hours to get a response from them (during which, more overdraft charges occur). In the end they were willing to only write off three of those charges and they are telling me I still owe $185, just in over draft charges. WILL NEVER BANK WITH FIRST INTERSTATE AGAIN.

I sold my house there was an over payment of 450.00 I was told I would receive this back the bank will not answer
my emails they will not answer my phone calls.
I was told I would receive this over payment back. The bank will not contact me or talk to me about this in any way shape or form.
I would prefer the bank do the right thing and return the over payment of 450.00. Rather than have to sue them in court for illegal activities.
I want them to do what is HONEST & RIGHT & return my money immediately.

Deceptive business practices and poor customer service. Beware Beware Beware! I have financed many vehicles with many banks but this experience is the worst treatment and lack of professionalism I have ever received period! Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!!!!!!!!

I had a personal loan and paid off over 4 months ago. Payoff contract was received and without my knowledge $25.00 was deduct from my checking account in reference to the pay off loan. I call the local bank and I was told that it was a pay off amount, must of been a computer glitch. I inform them that the loan was paid off and there should be no transaction on the pay off loan. Bank employee was rude and uncooperative. I feel that I should not be responsible for paying the bank computer glitches from after 4 months of paying off a personal loan.

Im requesting this unauthorized amount return to my account
