Review: I signed up along with my cousin for a class on EKG certification on 7/22/2014 and I wrongly informed by the receptionist [redacted]. We had asked him several times about the class information and book. We asked if that class was the same compared to the EKG course offered at Sutter Memorial Center which will train us to be a monitor technician at Sutter Memorial hospital. He had confirmed every time that it was the same class offered at Sutter Memorial (the 11 Week course). After we signed up and payed for the class, we did not receive any confirmation about payment until we called in need of request. He did not mention non-refundable payment of the classes. The website does not mention it either or specify it. We didn't find out about non-refundable charges until after we payed for the class and received the confirmation email a day later that mentions the non-refundable charges at the bottom of the email. When we received the confirmation email, we checked with Memorial hospital if that certificate was the requirement certificate to serve as a monitor technician. They explained to us that it was not the same as the 11 week course they offer. That very same day, we tried to cancel the class at First Lady Permanente but [redacted] would not allow me to receive our money back even when the class isn't scheduled to start on Sept.9th,2014 which is over 30 days of cancellation. The email we received has tricky words that quotes "all deposits are non-refundable and expire within 30 days from scheduled course date". How ever, we didn't know all these specifications until after we payed the class and requested the receipt. The main reason for this complaint is we need the money back to pay the correct class. However, he offered us to take another class but none of the classes he offers is suitable for any of our needs.Desired Settlement: We just need our money back, request first lady permanente to not misinform people about the classes offered and specify the non-refundable charges on their website before people have to pay for the classes.
