2015. The treatments were done by a certified arborist in both years. In 2015, the Treeage treatment was completed by of our certified arborists. We fulfilled our contracts in both years and they paid us for our services. The complaint does not go into detail with regards to the other companies that looked at *** *** trees. We do not know if they had certified arborists come out to give them a written professional evaluation or if either company has any experience with performing the Treeage I.Vtreatment to protect against the Emerald Ash Borer. Neither of these companies were present when we did the treatments in or 2015. Instead, each company came out approximately a year after we performed the last treatment in 2015. Our certified arborists have years of experience and they have treated thousands of Ash trees in the tri-state area. Both of our certified arborists that were present on May 14, recall performing the work at *** *** *** ***. According to our certified arborists, it is not surprising that the plugs in the tree would not still be showing in the Ash trees from the treatments in 2013. Healthy Ash trees of mature size grow approximately 1/2" per year. The trees would quickly grow over most of the plugs in the trees and since it has been more than years since the treatments, all or most of the plugs would not be visible. Occasionally, plugs are pushed out instead of the tree growing over them, but that is less likely in most Ash trees. The plugs that they are seeing now are from the treatment, which was just over a year ago. There are multiple factors that determine the amount of plugs that will go into an Ash tree. The size of the tree is one major factor. The bigger the tree, the more plugs there will be in that tree. Other factors include the ridges of the trunk, the root flare, and/or dead parts in the trunk. We do not put plugs in bad spots on the tree. The plugs are approximately 1/2" long. When they drill each hole, they look for moist bark, just beyond the bark layer. Depending on the tree, that will be between 1/8" to 1/2" deep After reviewing their account and thoroughly investigating their complaint, we are unable to give a refund for work that was performed as agreed. We sincerely appreciate our customers and we take our work very seriously, especially when it comes to the health of our customers trees. 6 stumps instead of 3.  Unfortunately, the quantity of stumps to be ground out was not adjusted on Ms. [redacted]’s contract prior to our crew coming out to do the work.  Due to our error, we will correct her bill and deduct $200. On Ms. [redacted]’s contract, it does note that there will be lawn and plant disturbance.  We needed to bring a stump grinder and other machinery into the backyard, so it is impossible to avoid lawn disturbance.  We make every effort to minimize the disturbance and also try to communicate it in writing for all of our customers.  In most cases, the areas that were disturbed return to normal.   From Ms. [redacted]’s description, the lawn disturbance may have been more severe.  We are very sorry for the inconvenience this caused Ms. [redacted].  We would be happy to deduct the amount for the grass seed that she needed to cover the affected areas as requested in her settlement request.   We will send a revised bill that shows the $200 adjustment and also the deducted amount for the grass seed. Sincerely, Jennifer H[redacted]
