I post dated a check for contract work far past the scheduled completion date. The contractor, Seyed F ***, stopped working, saying that weather conditions and sickness were holding him back. I did not cancel the check. The contractor waited until he could cash the check, cashed it, and stopped communications. Additionally, I initially paid Seyed F *** via ***. He told me that he did not receive the money and that *** was having issues. I paid him a check instead but now *** is tellin me that he received the money the entire time.

First quality builds LLC promised to provide remodel services for two bathrooms and one of those being the Master bathroom. From first glance of the first bathroom everything looked okay, but after using the tub we noticed the shower didn't operate properly because the faucet spout would come out away from the wall and water came from the upper shower spout when drawing a bath. We thought we could still manage by taking baths with our newly installed tub, but the drain wasn't properly installed the first time which resulted in water damage to an overhead beam downstairs in our kitchen, so we notified our contractor. Contractor came out replaced the drain and thought the shower was fixed, but shower came back out away from the wall a couple uses later because he tried to fix it by only applying silicon. I called our contractor again about this issue and he said he would come back out to fix. He asked if we had more tile because he would have to go back into the wall to repair and I said yes. Our Master was left in a total mess, with grout falling in shower, so much dirt and grime in the window sill we couldn’t close it. We have reason to believe the whole floor wasn’t removed before laying the new tile because it feels bouncy and shifts in spots. He never came back to inspect his guys’ work and I never should have paid him until it was completely done and fully tested, but did not think about filling up the tub to test stopper. I have had many text back and forth with his empty promises of him coming to make it right, but he always has an excuse not to come out and now he doesn’t respond at all, even after I told him I would file a complaint against him. I have pictures and text messages to support all of my claims.
