I recently had my solar systems installed in my Westminster home by First Solar Team. From Day 1 they were very easy to work with. Sara did a great job explaining the process of pulling permits to explaining the details on the actual installation of my system. It was a true pleasure working with their whole team
Warning- They are not local in Colorado. I was contacted by a salesman after making an online search about solar panels. The salesman was just that, a smooth talking salesman. I started the process with them in Sept. and was told the project would be completed before the end of the year so I would be able to receive the tax credit on 2017 taxes. After not hearing from the company for over a month after repeated attempts to contact them by email and phone, I contacted the salesman. He told me he and most of the local employees left the company due to not being paid. He warned me to get out. I called the loan company and filed a complaint since I could not cancel the loan due to the fact that they had already paid First Solar Team. It was only then that I heard from the solar company in Texas. They continued not to respond to my questions in a timely fashion. They did not want to complete the energy package that was part of the purchase. They stalled until April 2018. My panels didn't get installed until Feb. 2018 and therefore could not get credit on my 2017 taxes. They also were not upfront about the loan. I was told it was a no interest loan for a year. They failed to tell me they were breaking it into 2 loans and that the second loan, which was a higher amount, was not interest free. They threatened to send me to collections for not signing the second loan. The job was not complete which is why I didn't want to sign the second loan. The job is still not complete with no end in sight. I would not recommend this company. They are not local and I have been dealing with people in Texas and New York. They are unprofessional and untrustworthy.
Amber, it is unfortunate you posted these comments as there are many inaccuracies. We have an office in Westminster, CO and have been in the same office since we started our company. We also pay our employees on a bi-weekly basis and we use a large national payroll processing company to do so. You signed your contract with us on September 27, 2017. After you signed your contract we attempted to contact you via phone calls and emails over the next month and did not hear back from you. We spoke with you in November and informed you all paperwork was submitted to *** in order to get their approval. We did not get the approval from *** until the end of January, this delay is out of our control. Your solar system was installed on 2/19/2018 and your energy package was completed the first week of April.
Regarding your loan, your loan was processed through a bank not First Solar Team. First Solar Team has nothing to do with the structure of your loan. We were very patient with you considering it took over three months for you to sign off on the loan documents after your system was installed so we could get paid for the work that was performed. Unfortunately, your response is incorrect. If you tried to get in touch with me for a month, then why am I complaining that you did not. My email and phone number have not changed. If you are a Colorado company, why am I dealing with people in Texas and New York? Why is my job still not complete? The loan was sold to me by your company as one loan, not two. That I not the loan company's fault. You also gave the terms to the loan company. If not, why did your New York rep call and change the terms when I complained? You have many inconsistencies in your response. Maybe you should get your story straight before you respond in the future.
I had my solar system installed last month. Working with the team at First Solar Team was a great experience, I would highly recommend them to my friends and family. They did a great job from day one keeping me informed on the progress of my solar project.
First Solar Team contracted to install solar on my house Aug 4, 2017. After 48 days of hearing nothing from them I started making phone calls to find out when the project would be started. I was informed at that time by *** that my project was quote "A small Job" that it had not been scheduled. Short story I was informed from *** on Oct 10th the First Solar Team was cancelling the contract and that the Deposit of $8500. would be refunded back to ***. As of Oct 26th they have failed to return the money back to the bank. I have filed a formal complaint with Registrar of Contractors in the State of Colorado & with *** and requested that no more loans for this company to be funded until this is resolved. I have contacted ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, and *** all of which work for First Solar Team of which none of them have returned emails to resolve this issue.
Want to let you know that First Solar Team has finally paid back the loan that they took out as a down payment on the solar system that was never installed. I can send you email addresses if you wish, but I'm satisfied of them returning the money that I was on the hook for thru ***
