Applied for assistance to find affordable insurance and to apply for assistance per call from Medassist for emergency services received. Sent all required documents and was told they were received and looked like I qualified.Was told on phone per*** she was applying for Medicaid for me and maybe could get bills paid on emergency level. Said could take up to 90 days. Never heard back anything.Many calls later was told I was referred back to hospital billing and with absolutely no action from medalist to help me thru process of obtaining affordable insurance or help with going thru process of applying for assistance.Dropped me like a hot potato!! Per statement in correspondence from them "if eligible for assistance program, we will contact you to complete the application for
medical assistance and support you thru entire process" Ha, never happened.
Finish the job Do what they advertise they will do.

MedAssist provides free eligibility services to its healthcare clients and is a Business Associate of such healthcare clients under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"). In compliance with HIPAA, MedAssist does not disclose protected health information regarding a patient of our client and cannot publicly confirm or deny whether an individual receives services from MedAssist.
Hospitals engage MedAssist to assist a hospital's patients with obtaining coverage for health care services. The service MedAssist provides is free to a hospital's patients. When a patient does not want MedAssist's assistance and affirmatively informs MedAssist by phone or mail, then MedAssist ceases communication with that patient. MedAssist maintains an internal do not contact list. Lastly, if an individual does not appear to qualify for the various programs for which we screen, we do not pursue assistance for the individual.
