Review: We were referred to addresses of possible apartment locations. They were out of our price range even though we told them what our budget was, and one of them even ended up being a senior home center.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of the $200 we gave

Review: I signed up for services with this company in October 2013. The contract signed stated that we had a 90 day limited refund guarantee policy. It clearly states and I was verbally told that if they were not able to find us a home I would get $125 back from my initial $200 deposit. Our contract expired on January 17, 2014. I submitted the proper paperwork to request my refund back within the 10 day period.. I was not able to find a home with their services. Once I requested my refund they refuse to issue it to me. They are scammers taking everyones money knowing full well they can't find you a home. They have been ripping people off for a long time and they have not been stopped. It is a shame tthat I needed to use their services because of the dire need of finding a home for my family.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my refund back. We are having financial hardships and for this company to take advantage of people that are desperately searching for a home is horrendousDownright disrespectful. I would greatly appreciate any help towards this situation.

Review: This is a company that says they have multiple rental properties available and can get you into a place very quickly. I signed a contract with them that said if I don't get a place or sign a lease with one of the places that they show me they will refund my $200. I did not sign a lease with this company and in fact this company never even showed me a rental property in the 3 weeks that they were "helping" me. I have had many endless conversations with them and the lack of information or willingness to help and still nothing. The reason they never showed me anything is because someone said that my number was not valid then they tried to call me while I was on another line with them and the cell phone number given rang. But when and if I ever got any address they were not in the area I needed or price range. I think this place is a scam.Desired Settlement: I think consumers should be aware that this place is very close to being a scam. It is in a shady place and you can never get in touch with anyone. But when someone does answer the phone they say "hello" like I've called their personal line.

Review: This is suppose to be a company to help you find rental property's. It's such a scam. First they do not give you any addresses when you call, they have you drive to Santa Ana and they ask for a $200 up front fee. They are auppose to help you find a place. They gave me a list of address that had no vacanys and where way out of my price range. I had called back and a man named [redacted] said I wasn't getting ---- back, what kind off buissness are they running. They take your money and never call back. I wanted to speak to the manager they said his name was [redacted]. I called back and asked for [redacted] and they said there was no [redacted]. Nothing but the run around with them.Desired Settlement: They should be shut down and have to give everyone a refund

Review: This company posted several advertisements on Craig's List for rental living. My boyfriend and I called the number and spoke with [redacted] (he had several postings on the site), and he told us to come in to his office in Santa Ana. I noticed that the address he gave is different from that in the Revdex.com records. Once there we were told that they were a third party rental company that assisted people in finding housing. On the phone he told us that the cost was $200 to assure that they did not rent the house out to anyone. In the office he said that the cost was $200 and he would provide us with a list of houses that met our criteria. When we saw one that we liked (after driving past the properties), we were to call him and he would place us in contact with the landlord. We paid our $200, signed the contract saying that we would come in twice a week for referrals and they would in turn provide us with appointments for the landlords. When we informed them of the properties we were interested in later that day, they said they would return our call within 24-48 hours. I called back two days later after trying to fax them the paper (to the fax number they provided) listing the properties we were interested in. Their fax did not work and so I called back, was put on hold and transferred 3 times in 10 minutes and finally someone said that they are "working on contacting the landlords." When I asked for their phone numbers to call them directly they would not provide me with them. This office also failed to have a website or suitable references. This business is a scam which provides false advertisements and then issues contracts in which they do not uphold their service as stated. We have now lost $200 and they refuse to refund us, even after they have not done what they promised us they would do.Desired Settlement: I would like the $200 that my boyfriend and I paid to First Step Rentals to be refunded to us because this business did not fulfill their contractual obligations.

Review: This company(if they can be called that) is nothing but fake advirtisement and they take your money from day one!!! I went there October 18, 2013 with hopes to get that beautiful home that was for rent. When I got there they told me the way they worked was you pay $200 dollars and they give you listings of properties for rent! You go view the properties and then fax over the ones you want to view and they contact the property manager for an interview/viewing! After signing a 3 month contract which stated they guaranteed they would help me find a place to rent and coughing up $200 dollars(big mistake) I went driving all over to find placea! I would send them placea to view and never got an appointment to view any properties! My time for moving out came and they never helped me so I had to find my own place! Now I had to wait until the "contract" was over for a refund! I went in and they said I needed to mail a letter to the accountant [redacted], and he would mail out my check for $125.00 because they charge a $75 fee!!! I have been waiting for a refund since January 18,2014 it is now February 17th and nothing yet! I call and they leave you on hold for ling periods of time without saying anything and no one returns your calls! I don't know what to do they ignore your calls and don't have the slightest idea of what customer service is! Everyone should stay away from this scam buisness!Desired Settlement: I sure hope this place would get shut down because all they do is steal peoples money but for my sake I would want mu full amount refunded ($200) because they never helped me with anything!

Review: This company gave fake rental listings, most apartments were for seniors only and I am only 22. This company is not as advertised and does not answer their phone. Giving a 22 year old a list of senior apartments does not help, therefore they did not do their job and I demand a full refund.Desired Settlement: Two hundred dollar refund immediately!

Review: My girlfriend and I are looking for a home to rent. We went to this company and paid the $200.00 fee for them to help us obtain a rental home. The addresses they gave us were not actually homes for rent, but rather homes for sale or already sold homes. I have attempted to call them multiple times to set up a viewing on a particular home, and they keep informing me that the owners have not replied and they will call us with a scheduled time for the viewing. They have done absolutely nothing but steal our money and give us the run around! Please shut this place down!Desired Settlement: I want my $200.00 back!

Review: The company ad I responded to was for a rental 2 br city of orange for 1300 on phone was told yes it was 1300 plus 500 deposit but had to go to santa ana to get info and then when we arrived had us fill out forms to go see and then had to have 200 deposit cash to look at the house but when done he gave us list of only 1 bedrooms none were house in orange all were apt complexs he said ok and then gave us a new address for the house but it also was apt complex we called back again and left on hold no one ever answered the call. I went on yelp and seen all the complaints and know ive been ripped off.Desired Settlement: return of 200.00 immediately.

Review: On January 23, 2014 I went to view a property in Orange (or so I thought) I was told by a gentleman named [redacted] to go to the address at [redacted] St., #K Santa Ana, CA [redacted], when I got there, I realized it was a business named 1st Step Home Rentals. I thought maybe that was [redacted]'s place of employment and I was going to following him to view the rental property in Orange. At this point he told me to fill out a form and he would give me the listings of different rentals, I am in a desperate need to find a place, so I signed it and gave him my identifying information and my debit card, which he charged $200.00 to. I was very frazzled because none of this made any sense, I could have done this on my own, even when I checked the list of possible rentals, they turned out to be homes for sale, or already sold. I called to ask for my money back, because I felt I was dupped. I am hispanic and I feel like he took advantage of me. The girl on the phone was no help, she said I had to wait 90 days to get some of my money back. I need that money back to find a place to live immediately. I looked them up on YELP, and it appears there have been complaints and negative feedback about them being scandalous. Please help me.Desired Settlement: I would just like my $200.00 back.

Review: Company claimed to be a realtor for housing/apartment rentals. Never responded to my numerous phone calls. I went by store and they wouldn't helpDesired Settlement: Would like my 200.00 refunded

Review: To whom do may concern:Me and my wife we where looking for a house to rent, I was checking Craigslist for housing rent. I saw adds on Craigslist (for 3Bed/2Bath) in [redacted] on Nov-6-2013, for 1850$. I called ads phone number it was a 1 Step Rentals agency. So on the Nov-16-13 me and my wife decided to go ahead and check this house in [redacted] Ave)Through the office so we contact with a person his name is [redacted] from 1 Step Rentals and he asked for 200 $. When I went to the(1 step rental,[redacted], Santa Ana, CA [redacted]). The sales man promised us he will find a house on the ads for 1900$ (3Bed/2Bath), and if we didn't like this house, he will give us several different address to look at. Before I gave the office the 200 $, I explained to him that I can't afford to pay more than 1900 $ and this is my max. He promised me that he will find a house on this amount. The deal was this house in([redacted] in [redacted] for 1900$), when I asked him how he will arrange to us to see the house. He told me that he will contact the owner of the house and will set appointment so we deal with the owner. Once I paid the 200 $ he gave me a list of houses to go and check their location, and again I asked him are these houses around my limit 1900 $ he insured me yes. So I took the list me and my wife we went to check these house on the list. On [redacted] city, and we checked 3 houses on different location, So I called [redacted] from 1 Step Rentals, and he told me he will set appointment on Monday Nov-18-13, when Monday came I called his cell phone and right away he connected me with different employees her name is [redacted]. So [redacted] gave me phone number for this house. When I called number It was other company, other Agency, and I asked for the rent they told me 2300 $ month so I contacted with [redacted] who was busy to speak to me and asked me to deal with [redacted] from now. When I asked the other agency to see the house, he told me that the house is rented for 2300$, then I asked the office to find me a different location which I already checked. They gave me the phone numbers of two houses asking, and I call them both house asking for 2200 $ and 2400 $. My issue was that my budget can't let me offered more than 1900 $. The person who I paid him 200 $ he doesn't answer my phone he connects right away to different person in the office. Every time I call, they keep telling me that they are busy. The last time, I spoke to [redacted] he told me it's hard to find a house around 1900 $ in [redacted] city. So, I told him that my deal with you was what I can afford and your ads on Craigslist was for 1800 $ and 1900 $. Why did you lie to me and make promises that you will find me a house for 1900$. So every time I call the office they will tell me that there are no houses for 1900 $ in this area. I'm sending this letter to explain that this office 1 Step Rental (phone number #714-560-0557, fax 714-953-2065 on [redacted]17th Santa Ana, CA [redacted]),didn't serve what he promised, he missed lead me to BELIEVE that they will find me a house which fits my budget. the other two house I checked in the list they gave me, the phones number they gave to call, they are other agency. So I have to deal with other rental office and pay more money to find a house. Sincerely;[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would Like to get my Money back because I didn't get the price on the house rent I went to check.
