Review: I went through [redacted] for a door project. Home Advisor recommended a company named First Strike Handyman Service. When I first spoke with [redacted] of First Strike, he was very eager to take on the project and his prices were reasonable. I should have been suspicious from the beginning as it seemed too good to be true. I preordered doors from Home Depot and informed [redacted] of this. When [redacted] and his partner [redacted] arrived at my home to look at the doors they informed me that they were not the right size, but they would assist me along and tell me exactly what to get. [redacted] drew out the measurements and dimensions on a piece of paper and told me exactly what I needed to tell Home Depot. I got the new doors and they came back. After careful inspection, they informed me that the doors were the correct size and that they would be able to install them. The project was a complete disaster. It involved installing 3 doors, one of which was a sliding door. When they finished the project, the sliding door opened like a garage door and they did a very poor job of assembling the doors. When I asked them about fixing everything they said that they would come back because they needed a different piece for the sliding door because the door was too big. When asked why they installed a door that was too big they gave me the run around. I filed a complaint with Home Advisor and they engaged in a 3 way conversation with [redacted] and I. The final conclusion was that they would buy the piece they needed to complete the project and would come to my house to install it. Needless to say they haven't been back to my home and each time I have called they make up new excuses and lies. They sent a text message to me saying they had one piece for the door but would need to purchase another. As of today they are saying it is their policy that they don't purchase items for clients. Their receipt reflects that they guarantee their work for 3 months and they are proud of this yet, they have failed to deliver.Desired Settlement: If this company is not going to come back to complete the job, which I highly doubt they will based on their behavior, I would like a refund as per their 3 month guarantee.

Review: I hired First Strike Company to fix my basement bathroom shower. They told me that there's no way the shower can be fixed; they have to gut it and re-do the whole thing and it will cost me $3,900. We signed a contract and he told me verbally that it will be a 3 day job. A week later, they said they are done (and I've given them the full amount already). There are a number of things that were done wrong or incomplete:

1) Water is pooling on the shower floor (the slope of the bathroom floor is wrong; that's why the water is pooling in the middle).

2) They did not tile the entire shower. The top part (about a foot and a half from the ceiling) is not tiled.

3) The shower handles go all the way around; you have to slowly move the handle around to make the water stop flowing.

4) They used mismatched tiles (and their reason is that they ran out of tiles).

One of the [redacted] of the company, [redacted], had to come back 3 times to "fix" the shower floor, and it wasn't fixed. They had to send someone else to fix the shower floor. I've been trying to call them to ask them when they are going to fix/address the other issues, and they have been unresponsive.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to complete the job correctly. If they cannot do that, then I'd like for them to give me some of my money back so I can hire someone else to complete the job.

Review: Hired to plaster and paint interior and exterior areas of wall airconditioners and wall radiators in apt. AC units had to be removed from wall, then placed back in wall. Due to their lack of expertise with performing job properly, and leaving me with an incomplete job; exterior painting was not performed because they kept wasting time during the day to take breaks and ran out of time, I've incurred a new problem. My living room AC unit, when turned on, has a steady flow of water coming out of one side onto my carpet. Therefore, the unit is unusable and the job must be redone, meaning plaster must be removed, opening area of wall must be reset properly with pieces of wood around it to "level" the AC unit, then replastered and painted. This will cost me another $300-$400 hundred dollars. [redacted] and his partner charged me $750 (receipt #[redacted]pd with credit card) for living room, and bedroom, areas. On 8/**/2014 I sent [redacted] a letter via certified mail (#[redacted]) requesting a refund of $300 for creating this new problem and causing me to have to hire someone else and find the time to have this work redone properly. I feel my request is more than fair and have alerted him in my letter that I will take legal action for the full amount if he does not comply immediately. (I have since seen similar complaints about his lack of skill online - company name is First Strike Handyman and [redacted])
