Review: Upon moving out we had sent multiple requests (over 10) via email as well as phone calls and text to have a copy of the move out inspection. We received an initial call within 2 days of the move out date of Mar. 7 2016 stating that the carpet in a small bedroom had some stains the was not removed during the professional carpet cleaning and needed to be looked at to see if they could be removed or the carpet replaced. As of today we still have not received a copy of the move out inspection and then painting of the same room was added as a issue via a email on 4/8/16 which was a month after us moving out after having never been mentioned before. We then asked for copies of the estimates for the paint as well as the carpet via email, phone and text which again we have never received any exact numbers until today 4/15/16 when we were notified that a check had been mailed minus the cost of painting and carpeting a room under 120 sf for $745. We were never given the chance to have our own quotes done or to replace the carpet and paint on our own. When I finally spoke to the leasing agent/owner today 4/15/16 I was told that he should have never rented us the property we are in now (which is a different one) after complaining about the concerns listed above. I was also threatened with retaliation regarding my family being able to live in our current home by the office manager on 4/8 because I questioned the painting and why it took a month for them to say anything after several requests, this conversation was on speaker phone and witnessed by four other individuals (one was my youngest daughter who was upset by this). When I asked why the cost was so much I was told that it had to be done on the weekend even though we moved out on the 7th and the new tenants didnt move in until 3/18. This home was not repainted when we moved in and several painting and wall repair issues were listed in the move in report. I feel a fair price for the repair would be between 350 and 425.00.Desired Settlement: Fair price on repairs for one room to be painted and carpeted. Over charged for repairs, resulting in security deposit being less than anticipated. We should not be faulted for them taking two weeks to get the work done and had to pay additional for last minute jobs. This is not our problem, as they had amble amount of time to paint and repair the carpet.

Response:

We were refunded the cost of replacing the carpet since they never installed it. The painting cost stayed the same. We decided to not pursue the issue any further.
