Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/28) */
On 9/9/2015 the customer brought his 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, with 152,492 miles on it, in for service, and requested a power steering rack to be replaced because it was leaking. He also wanted the front brake rotors replaced, based on...

recommendations from another shop. After our inspection, we confirmed the Power Steering rack was leaking and did need to be replaced, but the brakes were fine and did not need serviced at this time. However, the left front wheel speed sensor, which is part of the wheel bearing, was throwing out 3 different codes and it was recommended to be replaced. Both jobs were approved by the customer and completed at a cost to the customer of $722.13 and the invoice #[redacted] is attached for your review.
On 9/14/2015 he returned with his Pontiac grand prix because it would not accelerate beyond 30 MPH. It appeared to be stuck in a "limp mode" to protect either the engine or transmission. After our inspection, a quote for a Mass air flow sensor (MAP), accelerator pedal assembly, and catalytic converter, was presented to the customer and declined. The customer drove his car away and the customer was not charged for this service.
Late in the month (this past February) the customer called to request a full refund ($722.13) for the previous work we did on the power steering rack and wheel bearing. She stated that the work we did, replacing a power steering rack and wheel bearing caused her to need more parts replaced. She/he took the Pontiac to another shop and had them fix the work we previously quoted him/her for. The customer supplied a receipt to us, but the receipt doesn't name a business and is dated 9/28/2015. That receipt is also attached.

On 10/01/2015 the customer took the Pontiac to another shop called Steve's Auto Service. It appears they replaced a throttle Body that the "Unknown" shop replaced on 9/14/2015, spark plugs, spark plug wires, an ignition coil and a diagnostics test. That receipt is also provided.
It remains unclear why the customer is dissatisfied with the service we provided? We replaced the Power Steering Rack for a leak, per the customer's request and a wheel speed sensor for codes stored in the vehicles on board computer. We do not have the equipment to do wheel alignments here, so it was recommended to the customer to have a wheel alignment done after the PS rack was replaced, and it is unknown whether or not the customer ever did this. I can't see where the service we provided was duplicated, defective or questioned. As stated earlier, their vehicle had 152,492 miles on it when we serviced it and the parts that were replaced after we serviced it, based on the receipts that were provided to us by the customer, and are attached to our reply appear to be normal, high mileage, maintenance repairs.
As always, it is unfortunate when a customer is dissatisfied with the service we provide as we strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and our work is guaranteed.
