On Tuesday, July 21st 2015, our technicians, [redacted] and [redacted] cleaned the windows for Ms [redacted] at her residenceIt appeared the windows had never been cleaned before as they were very dirty with heavy stain on some windowsMs [redacted] was informed by [redacted] , our crew leader, that some of the windows required a special chemical to remove the heavy stains and an additional per window charge would be appliedMs [redacted] agreed and the work was conductedUpon completion of the work, Ms [redacted] contested the additional charge that she had previously agreed to for the chemical stain removalInstead of creating a larger issue, [redacted] agreed to leave the price at the original amountMs [redacted] signed off on the completed work with her signature on the invoice and paid them with a check agreeing that she had “approved” of the workUpon closer inspection, Ms [redacted] discovered a cracked storm window as well as a loosened locking mechanism [redacted] informed Ms [redacted] that the crack already existed on the storm and they did their best not to make it any worseAlso, the locking mechanism was loose because it was an old installationShe disagreed with the explanation and asked that they take responsibility for itOnce again, to avoid starting a confrontation, [redacted] agreed to take the storm to have it replaced and that he would also look for a matching locking mechanism to replace the one that was looseTo be sure, we do not normally take pictures of the existing state of window frames/etcTo this end, we cannot be held responsible for prior damages to window frames, glass, and mouldingsThere are still MANY markings on her window frames which were likely caused by years of opening/closing windows and wear and tearWe have returned to Ms***’s residence on at least occasions after the initial cleaning to return the repaired storm, install a new locking mechanism, and wipe all around the window sills/floor/etc to her satisfaction

I am a business professional who works from home and knows every inch of my condo. I work days a week right next to the huge bay window Fish is claiming the storm in one window had a crack on prior I have never touched that storm window as the builder told me when I bought my place years ago that it is too heavy to even lift, hence, there isn’t even a screen in itAs stated previously, I told *** at Fish Window Cleaning about the crack after I pointed this out to the technicians. She said if there was a crack before they started the project, they are told to inform the owner and are instructed not to clean any windows with cracks in them as they could damage them further. More proof that the crack was NOT there before Fish got here.As for the additional “charge”, this is a window cleaning business. If a window requires more than soap and water to clean a window, I would assume that would be included in the charge, which is why I questioned the additional charge, thinking the money may be going into the technician’s pocket. It was never stated to me when I booked this service that in case there are “stains” on the windows, a few chemical sprays from a bottle would be used and upcharged. The locking mechanism wasn’t “loose”, the top of the latch was broken off as can be seen in the pictures I originally provided, attached again belowThe windows were pushed past each other to clean them and when I saw and heard the technicians release the window and it flew up hitting the top of the frame, the locking mechanism dented it. In addition, when I inspected and saw the damage, the part of the lock that was broken off was lodged between the window and the frame (as I originally stated), more evidence that the technicians broke it on the spot. If there is any doubt that these windows were damaged in these spots prior, please see the attached picture, dated July 22nd, 2015. The knick in the wood is clearly fresh. As a window cleaning company, I would suggest they have the proper technique in place to examine all of these “old” Boston windows they frequently clean and not blame owners for having “old” windows in their million dollar homes. They should note damages such as cracks in windows similar to when someone rents a car if they are so adamant that this crack was here priorI keep a very close watch on everything in my condo and am stating the facts. I am not interested in going back and forth on this, I just want the damage to my windows fixedwear and tear is paint that needs to be touched up. NOT broken locks and dents in my frames from technicians that do not know how to handle older windows.From putting the dirty bucket of soap and water in my kitchen and traipsing across my living room with dirty, dripping water from the sponge, to not putting drop cloths on the ground below the windows, to cracking my storm window, to breaking the lock on one window, to denting my wood frames and the window frames themselves, I am asking again, that the dents be fixed I have read reviews on Yelp about this business that they deny any damages and do not follow up with homeowners I am hopeful that this can be rectified.

We have returned to Ms. [redacted]’s residence on at least 2 occasions after the initial cleaning to return the repaired storm, install a new locking mechanism, and wipe all around the window sills/floor/etc to her satisfaction.
