Thinking it was legit collections
Got a call last week from this company. I couldn't take number or anything due to driving. Guy got attitude with me on phone. Then had the right to call my mother about this situation due to a credit card that been closed for 5 yrs now. I was already in bad mood. So I gave in paid 260$ or I could of made payments for the total 645$. When I got via email documents to sign the name one them didn't match up at all. Now im out of 260$ so thinking im calling bank today. After doing research I don't feel it was real. Also when called number they gave me it went to voice mail to a guy not a business...

Yep, they got $20 for now and planning to debit my account in a week. Now, I have to go to my bank and close my account. I called them and told them not to send the other payment. They asked why, I told them that they were a scam and I will file charges in the take anymore out of my account. The guy asked me "Who told you this was a scam?" Me: my bank. Him: Well, first of all they can't do that, it's illegal. Me: It' also illegal to scam people out of their money...Lots of other words were said then he told me that he was going to have the police come to my house...Bring it dude, I'm friends with the police. lol

This company started calling me from Unknown number, saying they were trying to serve me papers but no one was home. I advised I was home to serve them. They then gave me a number and case number to call. I called and said I was gonna have a court date from a credit card that was in collection. The card was 200$ and said they would settle with 500$ or payments for a total of 754$. If I didn’t do that I would have to pay 1500 in court fees etc. never sent any paperwork to my home about any of this. With me believing them I agreed to paying 100$ a month until 754$ was in full. Now I’m reading all this is a scam. They sent me paperwork via email to sign from a law firm Guzmán Toro and associates and I can’t even find any information on this company at all online. What should I do? I truly believe it’s a scam. Should I cancel my card and try to get reimbursed for the $100 I already paid them

the name of the company is Fisher and Fisher, I have attached the settlement offer send to me by them.

Review: I feel I have received a fraudulent debt collection notice. There is no website and when you call the number it goes to an unidentified voicemail. The correspondence seems unprofessional and homemade and they claim to have my credit card on file. They want me to fax my autorization to bill my card.Desired Settlement: I want to know if they are legit

Review: This company is in violation of the FTC AND THE FDACPA LAWS , Because a person from Fisher and Burns dba FISHER & FISHER FBF CALLED MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT and talked the owner of the company were I work and told them that they were going to serve me with court papers within the next two hours if I didn't call them, so I call, and a person named [redacted] answer the phone and inmediatly started threatened me that if I didn't settle with her right then end there she was going to serve me with court papers within the next two hours I think these are not very good business practices , also they find an old debt that is no longer in the credit bureaus and push to settle you into "to avoid court"Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop harassing me and my employer

Review: This company has called my former place of business threatening to serve me papers (they spoke with the office manager, not me), they called my father at his home, and my grandmother at her home. They did not attempt to reach me via my phone number. They harassed and tried to scare my family into thinking I would be sued if I did not call back by 5pm that same day. When I called back, a person named[redacted] explained that I owed money on a credit card that I know I closed out back in 2009. He read me my full social security number, and named other items on my credit report. When I questioned where he obtained my SS# and Credit Report, he laughed and said "Because we are suing you. We own this case and all of your information." He then got defensive when I questioned the legitimacy of his call and tried to strong arm me into making a 'settlement for a fraction of the cost of legal fees'. He said that if the case goes to court, fees would be over $7,000 but if I gave him a payment of $762 today, everything would go away. When I said that believe this is in error and I've recently viewed my credit report and this was not on it, his voice started to escalate and he again told me that if I didn't pay that I would be sued. He said in a very condescending manner that "as a courtesy to me since they see I have good credit otherwise, they're making me this offer but it is only good until 5pm today" or they will sue. This has GOT to be in violation of some type of regulations. I just went and checked my credit score and this has, in fact, been settled since 2009.Desired Settlement: They need to stop contacting and harassing me, my family, and my place of employment. I want them investigated as to how they obtained my full social security number and credit reports.

This exact thing happened to me as well they called my place of business and threaten as well my office manager called me. And I called this law firm as well he gotten upset with me

Review: This company has unethical collection practices.

They've called my landlord in [redacted] claiming they're a process server looking for me..... I can assure you I have no pending lawsuits. I called and reached a [redacted] who was extremely rude and taunting. I informed him that his collection practice is illegal. The FDCPA clearly states you cannot tell people you are suing them if you know you can't. He laughed and said the days of collection are over. This is a new age. We do what we want when we want to. He then called my sons soccer coach about this "lawsuit". I have sent over a cease all contact request to these fraudsters but they simply don't care.Desired Settlement: honor my cease all contact requests and stop harassing my landlord, friends and family members.
