At Fisherman’s Landing we strive to please and provide an enjoyable
experience for all who visit us. We are very sorry that the [redacted] party did
not have a good experience; but unfortunately due to the nature of
sport-fishing there are extraneous variables out of our control that may
negatively impact a trip. Fishing conditions are frequently changing; an area
that produced great fishing one day may be poor the next day.   "When we got there, they changed their
mind and wanted to fish in the California
Waters which required us to purchase an additional fishing license (Around
$16.00 per person). Cost should have been included since we did not purchase
the Mexican license. Please also note, our $350 fee was not reduced for the
Mexican license not being used" As stated on our website, fishing
itinerary's are always subject to change and in the trip description it
describes the trip as offshore/freelance. This means the trip does not a have
set destination. A Freelance trip itinerary is best because it gives the
captain the freedom to pursue the best possible fishing for his passengers. Mexico simply
was not a productive area to fish at the time. 
In regards to the issue of the permits the price of the trip is
standardized at $350 regardless of fishing in U.S waters or Mexico and on the website it states a California fishing
permit ($15.12) is not included and required for all trips fishing in U.S
waters. 
 
“The captain also
briefed that he hoped that the baiting station would give us enough bait for
the whole 1 ½ days of fishing” The cost of bait is included in every trip
however we receive our bait from an independent bait receiver. The quality of
the bait they provide us out of our control and dependent on changing
conditions. We seldom have problems with our bait receiver but at times the
bait may be less than optimal however in this instance the bait was more than
adequate for fishing.
 
“There was no know
ledged that we would even require any additional fishing tackle for this trip”.
The captain may have recommended casting irons at the time but fishing live
bait is the preferred method of fishing. Additional fishing tackle is never
required on any of our trips and is completely optional.
 
 “we were not taught by the crew on how the
iron was to be used”
 We are very sorry for
the confusion you experienced but the deckhands on our boats are extremely busy
tending to every guest. Unfortunately due to the large number of people on our
open party trips our deckhands do not have the time to give personal instruction
on iron fishing techniques, this is the reason live bait is always provided
