We saw a treadmill on the fitness blowout (FB) site that apparently said it was refurbished and came with a long warranty (lifetime?!)
Based on the apparent description of being refurbished AND having a warranty - we paid for the treadmill on their website using our visa card
Within a few hours (2?) an FB agent called us and told us that the machine was NOT refurbished - in fact it was heavily used - and had NO warranty
We immediately told the agent to cancel the order
He actually began to argue with us - angrily telling us that he wanted to speak with us about us having a NEW machine instead
He refused to listen to our demand to have the existing order cancelled - talking over us with a sales pitch for a new machine and eventually ending the call abruptly
We immediately contacted the visa card company who told us they could only start a dispute procedure if/when the cost of the machine ($1748.xx) posted to the account
The very next day the amount posted so we started a dispute procedure which is now going through the process
We are posting this review as a warning to others about the dubious business practices of this company as experienced by us
Having cancelled the same day and within about 2-hours of the original sale AND having spoken directly to a "customer service" agent to do so - the company should NOT have taken the money from our card
Based on our (ongoing) experience with them we can only advise people to avoid this company
They are the most irresponsible company in the world are thieves and scammers. They sold us 2 treadmills never sent them to me and now they do not answer the mails nor give me back the money the bill is 141794. I was told two weeks ago 2 months ago. THEY ARE A SCAMMER. PLEASE CAUTION. We lost four thousand dollars
I would strongly recommend not doing business with this company. Their definition of \"refurbished\" equipment is a joke. Their customer service is difficult to reach, slow to respond, and does not deliver on promises made. I ordered seven units of \"refurbished\" cardio training equipment in late 2014. The equipment arrived a couple of months later, and we immediately had issues with three pieces. One issue was not major, but two other pieces were not functional. The elliptical was repaired by a technician they sent us weeks later, but the non-functioning upright bike has not worked since the day we received it. Over one full year later, Fitness Blowout has not repaired my bike nor replaced it, and they have now gone silent, hoping I will just go away. I\'ve been forced to pay for my own technician to diagnose the problem and repair it. \r\n\r\nThough they are based in Los Angeles, my equipment came from a third party in New York. It appeared that the equipment had been pulled from another gym, had the frames touched up with a little bit of paint (that also was splattered elsewhere and completely covered the serial numbers), and sent on their way. They also reattached some of the bike and elliptical covers with drywall screws. \r\n\r\nTheir service department experiences high turnover, so your representative will change and you won\'t ever hear from your new one.
