Fitz Casino & Hotel Tunica Reviews (2)

On June 12, 2014 we visited Fitzgeralds casino and hotel in [redacted] Ms. On arrival we learned very quickly that things at Fitz had changed for the worsts, that the hardest working man at Fitzgeralds the general manager [redacted] had been fired from his position. And soon began to learn that things at Fitzgeralds had changed how they treat their guest. I have gamed for many years and have always enjoyed my time with the casinos and staff. But my last two visits with the Fitzgerald casino have been very negative. One problem was when we checked in to the hotel room there was a loud buzzing noise coming from the television, I contacted the first desk about the noise and was told there were no other rooms so we were stuck. Another problem was that while sitting at the down stairs bar playing not just few people, but a lot people were coming to the bar in my ear complaining about, no service staff on the floor to take drink orders from customers and people was leaving the casino. There was only one waitress for the hole down stairs and the bar staff was taking the heat from the customers about the casinos staffing problems. Which in some cases the bar staff would become rude to customer that only wanted service while spending their money. Another problem that I ran into was getting cash from the ATM machines, with several credit and debit cards the cash machines wouldnt give me cash, but at the cashers cage the same credit cards did work to draw cash for a large fee. I know that the casino is having cash problems, but they shouldnt be passing on to paying customer that pay enough to game. This last trip that I spent with Fitzgeralds I spent between one to two thousand dollars gaming and was told that my room and drinks were complimentary and when I checked out asked for receipt for any charges I was told that there was no balance that everything was complimentary and my receipt showed no balance. Two days later my credit card company alerts me that Fitzgeralds was charging without my knowledge $123.20 on my credit card after hotel staff told me that everything complimentary with no balance which have a receipt stating no charges. So I must say after all of my years with Fitzgeralds hotel and casino that if this is the case that they say one thing and do another to their loyal customers that this will be my last visit to Fitzgeralds Hotel Casino!!Desired SettlementRefund my credit card the $123.20 that was said to be complimentary.Business Response On June 13, 2014 Mr.[redacted] was a guest in room 546 that was comped for 2 nights checked in on 6-13 and checked out 6-15.Comp room dosen't cover any other charge. The 123.20 was for 2 bottles of [redacted] liquor for 60.00 each plus 10% tax.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I was told at check out that their was no balance on my account that everything was complimentary. If that was not the case then a itemed receipt should have been given to so that I could address this issue!! Also I spend thousands of dollars per trip with gaming and casino staff. If the $123.20 dollars is not complimentary then this would be a bad business decision, because the thousand dollar trips are over!! Please remove me for all mailing promotions and any other contact and I and my family will never return to Fitzgerald's casino and hotel again!!!!Final Business Response He was given a comp room not free room service. The 2 bottles of liquor is not a covered item on a comp room. No refund will be given.

My watch was stole while staying at the casino hotel. They failed to replace or find the thief. My name is [redacted] I am 42 years of age. I have been a sworn police officer just shy of 20 years. I visited the Fitz Hotel and Casino May 30 - June 02, 2014 for a long weekend. The reason I choose the Fitz was price and on the internet the rating was 4 out 5 stars. This was my first trip to [redacted], Mississippi and I didn't know anything about the area. While staying in the Fitz I placed my watch on the desk in my room and had it stolen by hotel staff. The watch was a gift and valued at $800.00-$900.00 USC. Upon my watch being stolen I notified security of my loss. This was the same night/morning the casino was robbed. After reporting this theft I called everyday to security to help with the investigation and I never received a call back or spoke with anyone who stated they were investigating this theft. This was mind blowing to me cause I know the first step in any investigation, especially a criminal is to talk to the victim first. I didn't understand why no one from the Fitz Hotel and Casino called me or made contact with me until, I read the letter sent to me from risk management. This letter in short states Mississippi Law (The Inn Keeper Law) that hotels aren't responsible for thefts cause signs are posted. I learned from the internet other guest at this hotel have reported jewelry stolen also. This hotel is hiding behind a law and guest have no idea when they check in there a thief operating inside this hotel. I enjoyed my stay however; when I traveled 600 miles from Illinois I hoped my items would be safe in my locked room I rented. I have traveled all over this county and this is the only hotel I have ever had anything stolen from. Desired SettlementInvestigate properly to catch there thief. Replace my stolen watch. Warn other guest about the thief in there hotel. Business Response On June 3, 2014 a call from Mr.[redacted] came through Security Control about a missing 900.00 [redacted] watch. He left his number[redacted] and our Master Officer made several attempt but the number didn't work. So the Master officer went to the hotel and got another number [redacted] and it also had a busy signal after you dial the first 3 numbers. In the meantime the officer sent an email to [redacted]@gmail.com asking him to call to discuss the incident. While waiting for him to return her call she had a lock interrogation done on his room which showed no one entered the room. He called back and said he never let anyone come in his room because he's a police officer and he had a gun in his room. When housekeeping came to clean his room he just asked for towels and didn't let them in the room. Since he didn't let them in the room and the lock interrogation showed no one else entered the room we had no other choice but to deny and close the claim. A letter was sent to him on June 9th denying his claim. We aplogized for the lost of his watch and explained the inskeeping law to him. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I reject the response from the Fitz Hotel and Casino. This response is filled with half truths. If I read there response right there investigation was to see if there employee used a swipe card to enter my room. There findings was not true cause an employee entered my room while I was inside the room using his key after I said I needed no service. I have investigated crimes like this as a detective and patrol officer. I also have had to lock up hotel employee because they knew the swipe cards weren't working and they could enter rooms without it registering. The Fitz knows there equipment is older and there are holes in there security. Second, The Fitz never said they interviewed any employee in there response or this was a complete investigation. The Fitz talks about there phone couldn't call a 779 area code. This is a new area code outside [redacted], IL. The Fitz doesn't talk about other guest has had the same problem with Jewelry stolen. The Fitz doesn't know I am a man of honor, and I have been working since I was 14 years of age. I didn't believe The Fitz would make me whole. All I can do is warning other non-suspecting guest so they don't feel the way I do. Listed below is a complaint from April. The Fitz never addressed this complaint so my watch was stolen. As you can see there still hidding behind a law that protects criminals.Reviewed April 8, 2014 Spent 4days thought it was going to be a great time but the day before we left had house keeping come in an didnt notice until I was getting ready to leave my jewelry case was gone. Things in it that was my grandkids when they were little, things that were my daughters when they were growing up. Reported it but they acted like they could have cared less. Word of mouth advertising can make you or hurt you so I want everyone to know that it is not a very safe to have your valuables. I have alot of friend that spend alot of time there but I will ask them to stay somewhere else. I hate to see this happen to anyone else Stayed April 2014, traveled with friendsPlease go to trip advisor and read...[redacted]Final Business Response No one went in his room, he stood at the door for his towels and we performed a lock interrogation to his room and it also showed no one entered his room. We accept no liability on this claim.
