I am writing in response to a complaint that was filed from a tenant that recently concluded a tenancy at [redacted] *** in Washington, DCThe former resident's complaint concerned the manner in which they returned the apartment and the disposition of the security depositThe apartment was returned in less than satisfactory condition that included partially and poorly painted walls that required additional painting work, as well as, a filthy kitchen and bath that also necessitated additional cleaning expenseIn addition, furniture was left in the parking area that prompted a separate bulk trash pick-upI have attached photos depicting the referenced conditions.We had facilitated the tenant's desire to terminate their tenancy early by reducing their obligation for the last month of rent by 50%, and were disappointed that they responded in this mannerI have responded to her inquiries about the deposit and offered to reduce the remaining balance to $150, but she has been unwilling to accept that the property was not returned properly and consistent with the terms of the leaseFor these reasons, I request that you close the file on this complaintPlease contact me with any questions.Sincerely,Peter *F [redacted] , JrDirector of Asset Management
