Five Points Advisory Group Reviews (4)

I paid this company to help me with money I owe the IRS. I paid $1500. When it finally came down to the very last thing to do, which was a conference call with the IRS, the company did not follow through with the call. I kept trying to call the comapny, email the company and received no reponse at all!!! The IRS closed my case because of failure to do that last call and I still OWE THE MONEY!!!

Review: I contracted this business to represent me with an IRS issue. I paid them $3,000 to do such which included the filing and subsequent representation through the process of filing an OIC, to include discussions with IRS, etc. I have been unable to reach this business, James specifically, who is my representative, since [redacted] left earlier this year. I am receiving notices from IRS, etc and am unable to contact the company to advise me on what to do, although they are the ones who are supposed to be doing this all along. I am about to be in trouble if I don't get assistance soon as they have closed my OIC, in error according to what I can tell, but I can't get in touch with anyone at five points to assist me.

I paid my money and they have failed to live up to their end of the deal. [redacted] is owner and my contact of record, and the one who has yet to contact me after months of attempted contact.Desired Settlement: If he is unwilling to assist me with my problem that I paid him to do, then I want a full refund as I will have to hire someone else to do what I paid him to do already. I refuse a proration given that I will have to start completely

Review: I have been trying to get a response back from anyone at this office and have been ignored. I have supplied my social security number, date of birth, address and other personal and confidential information for the purposes of having my taxes done. This company, both Raquel and James, have disregarded my continual attempts to make contact and have completely ignored my concern of them having my personal information and NOT responding to any of my requests. Given the nature of their business, it is extremely unsettling that they have been completely non-responsive.Desired Settlement: I think someone needs to investigate this business given the nature of their work and the type of information they have access to.

Response:

The person making this complaint never hired our company to complete any work. We had done a lot of work for her sister in the past and she contacted us to look at possibly completing her 2012 tax returns. We asked her to send us the QuickBooks file, which she did. But because the versions of the QuickBooks didn't match, we were unsuccessful in opening up her QuickBooks file. We made her aware of this and we tried different ways to try and none of them worked.

The person making the complaint never hired us or paid us any money. She wanted us to take a look in to her books and quote her on how much it would cost to prepare tax returns. We weren't able to open up the QuickBooks file and deleted it as it probably contained personal information. We regret the fact that we weren't able to help this person with her tax returns. But at the same time, we don't feel that this complaint is valid. We never charged her, therefore she never paid us which means she was never a client. We have apologized to this individual for not being able to provide her with an estimate for our services but technology didn't allow it.

As to her questioning if we are really tax professionals? We have an Enrolled Agent who is enrolled with the IRS to represent taxpayers in all tax matters in the ownership group and who runs the office. We have never had a complaint before, this is the first one, which in our opinion isn't valid. We have a great reputation with our clients.

Review: Last year they prepared my 2012 tax return and now my new tax preparer told me that the 2012 return was wrong and I should have paid more taxes. I sent them 4 emails asking them to check if my return was correct and if they could help me. I have never received any reply from them.Desired Settlement: they should tell me if the 2012 tax return they prepared was wrong and they should help me to correct their mistake
