Review: I paid the owner [redacted] 941.90 to repair my front windows. I was having problems with closing my two front windows. Each time I would try, it would make a drilling noise. I explained this to [redacted] when I turned my car in to be serviced. I also let my friend Jose witness my windows before taking it to the mechanic.

The repair of my vehicle was delayed for a couple of weeks which was understandable do to the events of Hurricane Sandy. On 05 Nov 12 I paid [redacted] and picked up my car. He told me that the parts were used, and he’s giving me a one year warranty. My gas tank barely had enough gas to travel 10 blocks. I struggled to make it to the gas station.

After I filled my tank, I traveled about a mile and once I arrived in Newark my car began to overheat. I immediately pulled over and contact [redacted], but his receptionist told me he was gone for the day. I explained to her that it was very important that I speak with him, so she was able to reach him and he sent out a tow truck.

The next day he called me and informed me that there was nothing wrong with my car, that it was just a bad censor. However, while he had my car he conducted an oil change and according to the receipt statement his mechanics put the wrong oil. They used 10/30, when my car requires 10/40. I questioned him about this and he said it was a typo.

He was very unprofessional, and argued with me over accusing his mechanics of tampering with my car. I explained to him that I have every right to question his service, after all I just spent nearly $1,000 for professional mechanic work, and I expect it to be done properly.

My car was in perfect condition prior to turning it in to his shop. How is it that all of a sudden my car is overheating? It didn’t overheat and was working just fine before I turned it into his shop.

Furthermore, after a couple of months I started to experience the same issue with my front windows. They began to make the same drilling sound as they did before I took my car to his shop. I returned to his shop and told him that the windows are giving me the same problem. This time I was accompanied by my friend Jose, to witness everything that’s taking place.

[redacted] held my car at his shop for a week, without attempting to repair my windows. He wasn’t in contact with me, so I had to keep calling until I had the chance to speak with him. He then told me he’s still waiting on the parts. So I told him I’m coming to pick up my car and will bring it back when the parts arrive.

A couple days later he called me and told me the parts were there, so I brought my car back again. He repaired the windows, and then a few months later I’m having the same issue all over again.

I called him last week and told him my windows are giving me the same problem. And he said that “if it’s the regulators it would be covered under the warranty.” We got into an argument on the phone because I asked him why it would not be the regulators. I told him that it’s doing the same things it’s been doing, and if it was another problem why didn’t he find that out the first time? So he told me not to come to his shop.

Lastly, I noticed his shop has some terrible reviews on Google, with similar complaints as mine. He is very unprofessional and over charge his customers. He charged me $250.00 for used parts that I found online for much cheaper. He also lied and told me how he did some extra work on my windows, but didn’t charge me labor for that.

He obviously factored this into the price of the parts. He is very dishonest and cheats his customers. I refuse to return to his shop, because he didn’t perform the service which I paid him for. I shouldn’t have to return a third time for an issue that should have been serviced properly the first.

Regards,

Louis HolmesDesired Settlement: I want my money back. Since I paid for service that wasn't performed properly.
