Five Star Auto Services

Review: I took my vehicle to this service location and the mechanics performed unnecessary work and will not provide me with a receipt or itemized list of the work performed. My vehicle is in a worse condition than when I took it in for service. I took my vehicle in on 03/20/2014, 1993 Toyota Camry, because it was giving a gas smell and releasing black smoke from the exhaust. [redacted](employee/owner) states that he reconstructed the motor, changed the water pump, changed the timing belt and performed other services to the vehicle which he refuses to provide me proof for and charged me $1,000. I had to take my vehicle to another mechanic because my vehicle continued and worsened after being at the Five Star Auto Services. My current mechanic states that my vehicles motor was replaced with a junk yard motor and not reconstructed and that those other services performed by Five Star Auto Services were unnecessary because it was not going to address the gas smell and black smoke issue. I called and spoke with [redacted] at Five Star Auto Services and he stated that I had a year guarantee for the work performed. I told him that I would not take my car to him again because they were incapable of fixing the issue and they were performing unnecessary work which they were charging me in addition I no longer trusted their work. I asked for a receipt when I picked up my car and he stated he would provide that for me at a later time. I once again called him and asked him to provide me with an itemized list of the repairs and receipt and until this day I have not received it. He has refused on both occasion to provide this to me. He also hung up on me after making this request. Five Star Auto Services is performed unnecessary work, overcharged, did not provide me with a receipt or itemized list of parts bought and replaced. Five Star Auto Services is truly deceitful and should not continue to operate.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded in full because my vehicle is in a worse condition after "work" by Five Star Auto Services was performed. In addition, I would like an itemized list of all parts that were replaced during their service repair so I may inform my new mechanic on the status of the parts in my vehicle. This has been absolutely one of the worst experiences I have encountered.
