MrChris S***'s story is the furthest thing from the truth it could possibly beIf you check the Maricopa County Superior Court records they clearly show, MrChris and Martha S*** DBA Five Star Engine have a long history of assembling defective engines that they have been sued forNot to mention, through my discovery it has disclosed several others that have not sued for defective mechanical workmanship problemsI've asked and demanded several times both verbally and in writing for all the NOS parts to be returned, and to this date have not received ANYThat is why the Glendale Police Department accepted and filed report 17-for an investigationMy custom paint was scratched, the car was left outside for months uncovered in the elements, the paint was chipped and damaged along with the NOS engine. As for the Dyno test; is completely inaccurate; stats for the bore tested was with a cfm carburetor, and after it was towed to another professional machine shop this is what they uncoveredFive Star honed the engine cylinders, and is in fact a bore, which required the NOS engine to need oversize rings which Five Star did not install, instead they just reinstalled my rings and charged me for new that was never supplied, intake manifold was incorrectly installed and had two air leaks on two different cylinders, damaged a NOS Corvette low rise Winter's foundry 427/aluminum intake, damaged a NEW SFI harmonic balancer, kinked the fuel line, failed to connect electrical wires, failed to connect the cooling fans ground wire and caused the engine to overheat, left electrical wires laying on the exhaust, failed to connect the carburetor choke wires, leaking fluids, used Ford red coolant in a Chevy green engine, used plastic garbage ZIP ties to the engine wires to hold wires off of the headers that Five Star burnt up, chipped the alternator and ac brackets, and made home made motor mounts that mounted the complete driveline in an incorrect position which made it impossible to use the polished aluminum high rise intake that came with the car new in
I have yet to be provided a written explanation why you chose to modify
Chevy small block cross member mounts and weld them to the cross member frame,
instead of using, an industry standard Jegs Part #w-that is designed,
engineered and manufactured for a 1968-el Camino cid Mark IV engine which diminished the value of a classic car
From my conversations with Jeg’s and other engineering
technical departments, making your own was the wrong procedure, wrong part, and
caused damage to a classic car
I have asked multiple times verbally and in writing why did Five Star make home-made motor mounts and weld them to the car frame with no ASME code certifications and install the engine in a position that it could not close the hood, and they haven't answered that question eitherFurthermore, according to the Chevrolet Motor Division
engineering specification manual, series, 3918856, DWG 1-31, 6, B5,
Section 3, the motor mount brackets Five Star fabricated and installed are defectiveThe complete engine
had to torn down, removed and is in the process of being correctly rebuilt and
documenting
Mechanical Workmanship Deficiencies:
1) Chipped
paint on the engine block, brackets, and intake
2) Chipped
paint around the complete engine compartment
3) Fluid
leaks
4) Valve
train noise
5) Ford
red fluid instead of Chevy green coolant
6) In
dash Oil sensor light not working now
7) Improper
motor cross member motor mounts
8) Welding
on the frame with no A.S.M.E certifications
9) Hoses
rubbing on suspension bolts
10) Kinked
fuel line that won't allow the correct amount of fuel to flow
11) Zip
ties holding spark plug wire off of header
12) Failure
to wrap a New AC Delco starter and burnt it up
13) All
the ac fittings left open to the atmosphere and contaminated the system
14) Incorrect
Dyno stats, bore and is a bore, and a carb that produced maxair
flow of CFM15) reusing my piston rings on a left the ring gap to large at and is excessively too large of a gap causing blow by16) metal shavings were in the oil pan upon removal and due to the fact they didn't install the correct piston rings and reinstalled my own17) didn't reconnect horns18) refused to adjust valves tapping making valve train noise
Five Star also installed the headers on the new AC Delco started which burnt it up also, FYI if the replacement starter was wrapped with a protective shielding and if was done originally, the new AC Delco started would not have had to be replaced.MrChris S*** has a long history of denials and Five Star's online reviews clearly proves this business DOES NOT deserve a A+ rating, and here is a partial list of his victims in Azalone:

And as for *** *** *** *** ** *** had to take his freshly rebuild Ford engine to King to rebuild after MrChris S*** sold him a lemon tooThat engine was referred to as an "Frankenstein" engine because of the mismatched parts and cost that poor man $to make it right and Five Star just wouldn't make it right. Then when I did have the car towed back to Five Star the mechanic
accused me of damaging the electrical system and asked me
“What did I do to the fan wiring?” After leaving the choke wire lose sparking on the intake, the temperature sensor wire was on the driver side header shorting, and not securing the spark plug wire so it didn’t burn, I wasn’t happy with him accusing meI have the pictures to prove my statements, third party verifications from professional engine build facilities, receipts for damages incurred by Five Star's negligence, and MrChris S*** is only an expert in denial, deception, and subterfugeSincerely,*** ** ***

Response to complaint attached. Thank you, Chris S***

Interesting how we only use Fel Pro gaskets / seals, Comp Cams camshafts / lifters, and Edelbrock parts (all top quality name brand parts).  All of the manufacturers parts Mr. [redacted] listed in his complaint we used on his engine.  His alleged complaint was that the Fel Pro front seal / gasket was leaking.  We have over 99% customer satisfaction in thousands of engines sold. Mr [redacted] has also stated the engines performs great, only alleged oil leak issues in which have all been resolved according to Mr. [redacted].

Thanks again, Chris.

Due to the delay in correspondance through the Revdex.com some actions have transpired since the complaint.  With my initial response the customer had not returned the engine for inspection / diagnosis.  In his response he stated he had returned the engine in which occured after my initial response.  The customer had returned the engine for inspection and apologized for the language used in his initial complaint.  He did express his frustration with other items in addition to the engine.  We partially dissassembled the engine with the customer present to inspect the camshaft / lifters / cam bearing in which the mechanic thought may be an issue.  No problems were found with the initial inspection.  The customer left the engine at Five Star for complete tear down / inspection.  We completly dissassembled the engine and found no faulty parts / workmanship.  In fact the engine was exceptionally clean and nothing in which would produce a "knocking" sound was found.  We re-assembled the engine with new gaskets / seals.  The customer picked up the engine from Five Star and was supplied a full gasket set and new oil with no charges / costs to customer as a courtesy.  He mentioned that he was going to have the engine inspected / pre-run and would follow up with Five Star and or Revdex.com with findings.  Thank you for your attention.  [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I did read the comment posted which is not at all true I did return the motor for inspection because of the knocking noise And I have complied with install and warranty procedures n even went above and beyond putting top grade oil in it he is inspecting the motor that I took back we're trying to come to some kind of agreement although he says there's no problem with the motor but obviously I would not of taking the motor out and took it back if there wasn't a problem so I don't know where we're going to be what that I did tell him that if I get the motor back and it runs good no knocking noise that I will give him I will retract my statement and give him a full Balaji so we're going to have to see where that goes because like I said there's a problem with the motor he says there's not but when it was running there was a knocking noise in it so I don't know what else to do at this time
I do  apologize for the language.and do hope this is worked out.

To Whom it may concern:
The complaint is very self explanatory with alleged issues and no basis or facts about any defective parts or workmanship.  There are many factors in which a "remanufactured" (not "new") engine may have an alleged "knocking" noise including defective...

parts, defective workmanship, improper installation, improper break-in, any many other factors.

[redacted] has not complied with the warranty.
We have and will stand behind our product 100%
[redacted] seems to alleging engine issues without knowing what the issue is or cause.  We will be happy to inspect and diagnosis the engine for any alleged issues.  [redacted] was also given over a $200.00 discount as a courtesy because he did not have any more funds at the time of purchase.  We are prepared to defend ourselves in court if necessary and will advise the Revdex.com of the outcome.
We will offer no monetary funds at this or any time as the purchase is non-refundable, but will stand behind our product for any alleged warranty issues.
