Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Not only is the workmanship of your company visually unacceptable, the locking process itself is very difficult to use The sliding door mechanism sticks and the door has to be pushed on before the lock aligns, both to lock and to unlock The alignment is clearly off While we understand that you are not a woodworking company, in this day of technology, the customer should be advised before the job is started that the hammer and chisel approach will be usedIf your contention is that "this is not poor workmanship", my suggestion is that a photograph such as the one attached to our original complaint, be shown to new customers so that they will know what to expect, raw wood-chisel marks and all! They should also be forewarned that the locking mechanism itself will not necessarily be easy or smooth to operate It should also be noted that the deadbolt that you installed between the house and garage is reversed - the deadbolt turns clockwise while the door handle lock turns counter-clockwise.....something that I did not mention in our original complaint due to the major issues with the slider lock But it certainly bears mentioning now, based on your standard of workmanship Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  Not only is the workmanship of your company visually unacceptable, the locking process itself is very difficult to use.  The sliding door mechanism sticks and the door has to be pushed on before the lock aligns, both to lock and to unlock.  The alignment is clearly off.  While we understand that you are not a woodworking company, in this day of technology, the customer should be advised before the job is started that the hammer and chisel approach will be used. Dear customer.
We are a locksmith company not a wood work company. We repair locks in order for them to be in working order. Every time a locksmith is going to have to use a hammer and a chisel the cutout will never look like the one that comes from the factory, every time wood is being cut...

you'll see raw wood there in no way to avoid it. I have seen your pictures and there is not much we can do. It was not done poorly. That's is the way it's done. Does the lock function good? Can you submit pictures on here so Revdex.com can  see those too?

Hello,

When you look closely at the ad and when you log in to the website is says the the service call to send the tech out to your location is $19 and that's excactly what we charged you for coming out. Depending on what tools we have to use and if you have a cracked window the cost of the unlock very. We...

give ALL our customer the total price before performing the service snd making sure they understand all the charges and have they sign a work order. You had your chance to say that you do not want the service and we would have just walked away.
in order to resolve this dispute I can offer a refund of 10% off the total price and apply our returning customer Disscount

Regarding your complaints about your car unlock. I'm sorry to hear that you had to spend all your money to get your car unlocked and that your situation is as described. I would like to say that we ALWAYS go through the total prices on site and we have all our customers sign a invoice that describes...

what we are charging them for and the amount. All of our customers have a right to refuse the service and they would not be charged a penny. We cannot refund the amount back. You did agree to get the service and the service has been done already.

Review: I called inquiring about 5 Star Locksmiths rates. I told the dispatcher that I had a padlock that I'd like removed because I had lost the key. I asked her if she could give me an estimate. She stated the service call would be 19.00 and approximately an additional 25.00 to remove the lock. So I should have been charged roughly 50.00. The "so called licenesd" service tech arrives, looks at the padlock and says it will cost 180.00 to remove. I told him that the dispatcher said that it would cost me roughly 50.00. The service tech then goes on about how the dispatcher has no clue on what the correct pricing should be and that she doesn't know what a service techs job entails and how some locks are very difficult to remove. My reply was that she shouldn't be quoting prices then. The tech then said he could do it for 150.00. I told him no that's too much. He then asked me what would I be willing to pay. I told him that I didn't want to pay anymore than 100.00 but felt that I should pay the 50.00 that was quoted to me. He then said how about 100.00 plus the 19.00 service fee for the call. I told him no more than 100.00. He said fine and took it. What I found most interesting is that the tech said that the dispatcher had no clue in regards to what the fees should be because of the work that's entailed. IT TOOK HIM 2 MINUTES TO REMOVE THE LOCK!!! I would disagree and say that the dispatcher knows exactly what the job entails.Desired Settlement: I would like 50.00 refunded back to me because that's what was quoted to me.

Review: This past Saturday, * May 2014, I locked my keys to my rental car in the trunk. When I realized I locked my keys in my car, I [redacted] "Orlando locksmiths" and an ad for 247orlandolocksmith was top of the list advertising "$15 locksmith service in Orlando." I called and told them I was in a rental 2014 Ford Mustang convertible and locked my keys in truck. They told me they would send someone. A few minutes later, I received a phone call from the locksmith confirming the address. When the locksmith arrived, they were in an unmarked car and said, "I suppose you're waiting for me." I explained the situation that I had locked my keys in the trunk of my rental car and had to drive the car to Tampa to return it within two hours. He then looked around and said it would be $225, when I expressed shock he said he could give me the discounted rate of $175. I told him their ad said $15 and he said that that's just for coming out. I then said that the website says $35 for the service on a car, and he said that depended on many variables. We argued, but I had to return the car. I also believed I could call the company later and dispute the situation. He then spent one minute putting a metal rod through a gap in the widow and on the door handle and popping it open. I paid, and as he was on phone asked to give receipt to friend I was staying with. When I got to Tampa, I called the company. The [redacted] told me that I should have asked for the price when I called, and that I had agreed to the price before the service. I explained to him that his ad gives the price and changing it when they realize the person is in a bind was a bait and switch tactic and he then proceeded to yell at me. I tried to negotiate a reasonable price for the service, such as the expected and typical value $60 based in what I discovered when I had time to research. I even said I would pay $100. He rejected this proposal and yelled at me more. From research after the fact, I am not the first person they have done this too. In fact, had I had time before I used them I would have discovered that they have a reputation on [redacted] for just this type of fraud. This type of company clearly makes a business model of advertising one price and jacking the price when they realize the individual is vulnerable.Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay the market price, but not this bait and switch price that amounts to fraud. I would like a refund of at least half the price.
