Let's start from the beginning; This car was towed to my shop on 4/12/and due to the customer not being able to afford the repairs in a timely manner we, as a matter of plain courtesy to Ms *** stored the vehicle until 2/27/when she was finally able to pay for the repair,
let me reiterate that the storage of the vehicle was not charged for, plain courtesy, I personally advised Ms*** that I would not be responsible for ANY damages that may happen to her vehicle while ABANDONED in my parking lot, and as luck would have it, somebody actually tried (unsuccessfully) to steal the catalytic converters out of her car, we made that discovery when we actually repaired her car and proceeded to repair the damage inflicted by the wouthieves to her exhaust system in a pro-Bono way, Te initial reason for this vehicle to be in my shop was to address an engine coolant leak and overheating problem, I advised her that in order to replace the water pump the engine would have to be removed from the vehicle due to the unique mechanical configuration, thus rendering this an expensive and labor-intensive repair, that said, what we did is remove and replace the engine assembly in order to perform a water pump replacement, this is clearly under warranty, not the transmission, not the cylinder heads, and surely not the engine itself as an engine or transmission repair is not what we charged Ms*** for, the ninety day warranty is limited to the repairs stated on the final invoice hand-delivered to and signed by Ms***, who from the next day of the completion of repairs of her vehicle has visited my shop in three separate occasions to lay claims that "the transmission is slipping, and it wasn't doing that before" {we don't know that, the vehicle was towto the shop}, "it smokes, and it wasn't doing that before" {also we, myself or her, can not be certain of it, the vehicle was towto my shop}, she has called me in numerous occasions also to complain of myriad problems happening to her vehicle "that weren't there before, and I have personally addressed the supposed problems every time without finding any correlation whatsoever to the repairs originally performed to her car, i.e; Renew engine cooling water pump, radiator, thermostat assembly, OEM-recommended engine coolant, renewed the valve cover gaskets due to a leak from the top, performed a courtesy tuand furthermore repaired the damage inflicted by an attempted theft of the catalytic converters. Now let us suppose that I had enforced a storage and handling fee, my shop would've owned her car in thirty days or less!! let's not discuss a 10-month courtesy storagefurthermore, it goes without saying that I'm not denying a warranty here, up to this point she has not expressed any concerns of her car overheating, or even leaking antifreeze for that matter, as far a a refund is concerned I'm not willing to entertain the possibility, I can only offer her a warranty on purchased services
