The customer has been refunded $450 of the $750 she paid for the work performed.  in addition she has signed a release of all liability to Five Star Painting. In response to her complaint, the first day on the job we worked on the longest wall the customer wanted us to skim coat.  [redacted]...

of doing that we power sanded the wall because it already had so much sheetrock mud on it we thought sanding it would get the texture right.  The customer was satisfied with the painting and texture of that wall.  There were two other places in particular the customer was very concerned about.  One was behind the handrail going up the steps and the other was the wall leading to the half bath.  I, Sandra W[redacted], asked the customer to patch the spot behind the handrail ONLY because she knew nobody else could make it smooth enough for her.  The next day when we arrived she had attempted to skim coat the wall leading to the half bath and several spots on the tall wall as well.  We were already experiencing paint bubbles on that wall.  There was now way too much sheetrock mud on that wall and we had explained to the customer that my Sherwin Williams representative had recommended we leave that wall alone for at least 7 days.  We attempted to sand that wall and paint it again but the paint did the same thing.  With all that sheetrock mud on it without the proper time to dry it was not going to ever look good.  We explained to the customer prior to her skimming the wall that we could power sand the wall or she could contract with someone else who was qualified to put a very heavy coat of sheetrock on the wall and we would be happy to recommend someone.  We went so far as to talk to someone to get it done.  Once all that happened the customer would not let us come back to the house to fix the tall wall that had a little trash on it or fix the streaks that only she could see.  I could not send another painter as I did not have another one at that time.  I maintained contact with the customer as did my painter the whole time this was going on.  We worked around the customers schedule which was challenging because she had started a new job and did not want to continue to ask to work from home.  We offered to come later in the day, and on weekends to accommodate her schedule. We worked as hard as we could to make this customer happy but that did not seem possible.

Review: I hired this company (led by Sandra W[redacted]) to complete work on my house. Requested two small walls have skim coats, a small trim painted, and a tall foyer. Foyer had lots of paint trash and is very streaky. Damage was done to the stairs. Painter never took off shoes on stairs which were freshly poly'd.

Two small walls were never skim coated and painter asked me to do it myself. Very bad scheduling problems, poor service, and damage done to house. Cigarette butts and drywall trail left on front porch.Desired Settlement: Need a different painter to come out and finish the job since job has already been paid for. Need a painter who will NOT cause further damage and can actually fix the drywall as requested.
