Fix Auto - Moncton Reviews (15)

In final response to this customer's rejection, when our roofing crew removed the roofing around the lower rear skylight area, it was discovered the plywood of this area was rotted and needed to be replaced Several factors contributed to this early failure of the roofing system: the roofing was not properly flashed to the wall line as well as around the skylights The skylights that were installed had a rubber type gasket that the roofing is shingled right into the gasket(not recommended) Once the water started to infiltrate through the skylight, over time, it caused the plywood to delaminate I certainly hope this clears up her remaining issues As far as the collection agency, there was a miscommunication regarding the photos being "given" to her; when in all actuality, they were only "shown" to her from a cell phone that the foreman had This account has been removed from collections and nothing has been reported on her credit bureau We do hope this letter is sufficient to the customer and further hope that she has not had any water infiltration issues since we completed the work

on 8/4/15, the gutter supervisor arrived at the customer's home for the gutter replacement of the rear gutter & screening system It was further explained to the homeowner that an ice/snow brake system is needed due to the 12/pitch of his roof The home owner has declined this advice The gutter issue in question has been completed as requested We are now finished there & there is nothing wrong with the guttersThe homeowner states that the purchase date was 7/ However, the contract that he signed is 4/ He had gone through a FULL winter in 2013/ The damage was done this past winter of 2014/according to the homeowner As we are sure people will remember this past winter was quite brutal on everyone As for the homeowner's claims that no one showed up, he explained to us that he did not want us to go onto his property without him being there We did have appointments on a Saturday scheduled We called prior to going out there but he did not answer his phone Messages were left for him on the answering machine/voice mailAttached, are pics of our workThis complaint as far as we are concerned is now rectified

We were happy to repair the damage caused by the ice dam on [redacted] roof as a courtesy, as ice damming is not covered under ANY warranty However, since we were not given an opportunity to correct OR EVEN evaluate the issue that caused the leak, and as the only evidence that there was an issue is an exorbitant estimate from a direct competitor for $2,that resulted in a drastically sub par repair as compared to the opposite side which we previously did for the sum of $400, we feel our obligation to [redacted] has been satisfied Sincerely, Mark LaRuez Owner, Dan Fulmer Construction

Dan Fulmer replaced our roof in August because of a leak Unfortunately the roof still leaked We had a little difficulty with the repairs that were done over the winter I am happy to say that after the work that was done last week, and after a huge thunderstorm, I am putting my water catchers away permanently Thank you Dan Fulmer for the fight against Mother Nature You did a fantastic job!

Very disappointed in this companyI was told they would be over to do the estimate, and they never showed Called to let them know and was told by Jim the owner he was sorry and would follow this installation through to the end, which he never didThe installers broke the stairs on my back deck and left cigarette butts all over the drivewayWhen I was called to make the final payment I was asked to send pictures to them When doing so I was told they would come and repair the stepsI said already have someone else coming to do it, after all why would I want this company back?
After speaking to the owner again, he said my guys have worked for me over years, they said they didn't do it, I said well why would you offer to fix them then? He said "good faith" I said, right? To which his reply was "the guys said they were already rottedFunny, but I thought you said they didn't do it???? Never again, and I will be sure to let that be known!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
The chimney B vent was professionally installed in I had no leaks last year with the old roofWhen they installed the new roof the chimney was taken down (I saw it on the ground) so if it was reinstalled upside down they put it in and do not want to take responsibility for it*** told me he did not know anything about chimneysAlso, ***, his supervisor said they would be back to check the leak in the rear of the house and to replace the gutter they damagedNo one has called me or come to my house to resolve these issues as of today, March 25, 2015. The company response did not address these two last problems. I feel they are ignoring me, do not want to
resolve these issues as they have been paid in full.

In response to [redacted]' complaint, please find attached, a letter that was sent to her originally in November of 2012 detailing what our roofing crew discovered.  As was previously explained to her, we were not able to print the photos she requested due to them having been deleted in...

error.  We did however, explain what was discovered around the skylights.  As far as her issue with the builder, a normal industry labor warranty is usually only 10 years maximum.    She had indicated in her complaint that the roof was 12 years old.  Had the flashing been done correctly around the skylights when the structure was built, the gasket would not have become dry rotted in such a short time.
We did everything per the contract less the photos.  We wrote a letter for her to go back to the builder with.  Our position remains  that the money is owed to us for the work performed.  The collection agency admits they were mistaken in what they stated about the photos to her.  The account will remain in collections.

I like many other customers expect a high level of service from the companies I want to do business with. Unfortunately I have to take the time out of my day to write a bad review about a company I had expected to be a top performer in its area of expertise. I called Dan Fulmer Construction for an estimate on a deck/home I needed repaired due to a fire. I scheduled an appointment and expected the representative to be to the estimate in a reasonable time frame give or take 30 min. 25 min after the scheduled appointment I received a phone call stating he was on his way. I called him back and explained my day was important and if he could not be here in 15 min. that I was just going to cancel the appointment. He assured me he would be here. Another 30 min goes by and he finally showed up, one hour late! As I was shaking his hand and explaining that I was upset he was so late, he turned away and told me to have a nice day! Like I had no right to be angry! (I presume because I confronted him about his tardiness) I could not believe a representative of such a fixture of our community would have treated a customer that way! I called the office and the girl that answered the phone told me " he is a very busy man". WOW! I guess the old saying size doesn't matter holds true int his case. I will never recommend Dan Fulmer Construction to anyone. If they treated me like that, their must be many others that didn't want to waste their time like I have had to do on my only day off! I'll give my business to someone else who still believes in the old saying " the customer comes first". I don't expect any resolution to this review, but if I didn't write it, unsuspecting customers may fall for bad service disguised as a large construction company!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution will be satisfactory to me when the letter, defined below, is received by me.
I called  [redacted] on 4/11, they said they would send a signed letter on their company letterhead stating what they said in their response to the Revdex.com inquiry, which was worded to show that the skylights were installed improperly by the builder and how that installation caused the roof to leak and need to be replaced.

on 8/4/15, the gutter supervisor arrived at the customer's home for the gutter replacement of the rear gutter & screening system.  It was further explained to the homeowner that an ice/snow brake system is needed due to the 12/12 pitch of his roof.  The home owner has...

declined this advice.
The gutter issue in question has been completed as requested.  We are now finished there & there is nothing wrong with the gutters.
The homeowner states that the purchase date was 7/2014.  However, the contract that he signed is 4/2013.  He had gone through a FULL winter in 2013/2014.  The damage was done this past winter of 2014/2015 according to the homeowner.  As we are sure people will remember this past winter was quite brutal on everyone.
As for the homeowner's claims that no one showed up, he explained to us that he did not want us to go onto his property without him being there.  We did have 2 appointments on a Saturday scheduled.  We called prior to going out there but he did not answer his phone.  Messages were left for him on the answering machine/voice mail.
Attached, are pics of our work.
This complaint as far as we are concerned is now rectified.

While we very much regret this incident occurring with such loyal customers, we feel we have done everything reasonable expected of us in this situation.
We did replace the glass once at our expense in appreciation of the...

good relationship we had with the homeowner, though we were under no obligation to do so.
The fact that the manufacturer went out of business in 2008 was unfortunate; however, this was beyond our control & was not our responsibility.
We have the utmost respect for and have done many projects for the [redacted], to their satisfaction.  It is unfortunate this work and goodwill was suddenly disregarded due to circumstances beyond our control which we took responsibility for.

In final response to this customer's rejection, when our roofing crew removed the roofing around the lower rear skylight area, it was discovered the plywood of this area was rotted and needed to be replaced.
Several factors contributed to this early failure of the roofing system:
1. the roofing was not properly flashed to the wall line as well as around the skylights.
2. The skylights that were installed had a rubber type gasket that the roofing is shingled right into the gasket. (not recommended).
3. Once the water started to infiltrate through the skylight, over time, it caused the plywood to delaminate.
I certainly hope this clears up her remaining issues.
As far as the collection agency, there was a miscommunication regarding the photos being "given" to her; when in all actuality, they were only "shown" to her from a cell phone that the foreman had.
This account has been removed from collections and nothing has been reported on her credit bureau.
We do hope this letter is sufficient to the customer and further hope that she has not had any water infiltration issues since we completed the work.

We were happy to repair the damage caused by the ice dam on [redacted] roof as a courtesy, as ice damming is not covered under ANY warranty.

However, since we were not given an opportunity to correct OR EVEN evaluate the issue that caused the leak, and as the only...

evidence that there was an issue is an exorbitant estimate from a direct competitor for $2,000.00 that resulted in a drastically sub par repair as compared to the opposite side which we previously did for the sum of $400, we feel our obligation to [redacted] has been satisfied.
Sincerely,
Mark LaRuez

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The letter [redacted] provided to Revdex.com specifically stated that the flashing was not installed correctly - there was no mention of that in the letter they provided to me.
The letter, in my opinion, stated the problem was that the rubber gaskets became dry - which is not a fault of the builder.  This letter explains that they were not installed properly - which is what I have been asking for.
If [redacted] will create a new letter, based on their findings in November 2012 and stated as such, stating that the problem was because the flashing was not installed correctly with as much detail as possible, I would be happy to pay the balance.
I would also like an explanation of the comment "The collection agency admits they were mistaken in what they stated about the photos to her."
Regards,
[redacted]

We hired Dan Fulmers company because of a leaky roof. Here we are 2 years later, after they "fixed it" and our roof is leaking again - in different places - because Dan Fulmers guys took short cuts and didn't put in the flashing that we expected. Thanks for nothing Dan Fulmer. We would NOT recommend them - apparently you have to watch the workers every second to be sure they do what is expected.
