Business owner failed to disclose full cost of repairI contacted the plumbing company to conduct a routine annual inspection of a back flow meter on our irrigation system. The company conducted this inspection last year. The scheduling person said they would inspect the valve before the due date of 23 April 2015. The company did not contact me before conducting the inspection, so I was not present when the technician came on April 13. After the inspection, the owner called me to say that our device failed inspection because a spring was missing from the relief valve. This seemed strange since there was no other activity around the device since their last inspection and it is always under a cover, but I agreed to the repair based on a cost quote of $85 stated by the owner, [redacted], during the phone call. After the phone call ended, I called back to make sure that the technician would call before coming to make the repair, since I was not present for the original inspection and I wanted to be present for the repair. The company representative agreed that the technician would call first, but I did not receive a call when the repair was made on 22 April. The bill arrived about a week later. The bill included the original contracted inspection price, the agreed $85 repair part price, but a previously undisclosed $75 service call fee and an additional previously undisclosed $75 labor charge to make the repair. I expected a bill for $125 to inspect, and an additional $85 for repair parts for a total of $210, but the final invoice was for $360. After writing my complaint and filing it, I decided to contact the business owner personally, which I did not do before filing the complaint. Today I contacted Mr. [redacted], and after explaining my issue with his billing invoice, we came to a mutually agreeable resolution. I found him to be accommodating in responding to me, and I am satisfied with his efforts. Case number XXXXXXXX has been fully resolved. I feel charges were added on that I was not made aware of and that I was lied to.On 3/3/16 I contacted Fix It Plumbing about a leak in a pipe under my bathroom sink. I asked if I was in their service area, [redacted] put in my address and said yes and that it would be $112.50 to come out and that included the first hour of work but parts would be added. I said ok. They came out, it didnt take long at all to fix the problem but then I was told I owed them $257.50.When I questioned they said the $112.50 was just for coming out then I owed $45 in parts and $100 more dollars for their labor. To me this is outrageous and totally different from what I was told. I tried calling and noone would answer my call.Desired SettlementI would like for them to live up to what the agreement was and refund the extra $100 they charged.More Info Received From The ConsumerFirst I want to say thank you to the Revdex.com for handling this issue so promptly. Fix It Plumbing contacted me first thing this morning and said they are issuing me a refund of $100.I am happy because I was never told of this charge and I hope in the future all charges will be made clear to their customers because we all work hard for our money. I hope to receieve my check soon so this all can be resolved and over. Again thank you and its nice there is a place people can go when they feel they have been wronged.
