Mr ***-*** informed us of his motor being out of time on 4/at 8:pm eastern time our shop closes at 6pm eastern time.on 4/we refunded the customer $plus paid for over night shipping for all the parts to correctly time the motor. At that point he had went to facebook and
posted a picture of his motor being out of time. Upon review of the picture we had found out he incorrectly checked timing of his motor. We informed him and didnt ask for him to refund his money. On 3/he then claimed he had not had his crank keyed. In our original message there was mention of a keyed crank, after talking with him via phone I explained we no longer keyed our cranks as there is not a needed itemHe agreed. None the less a facebook message is not a bill of sale, the original bill of sale does not state a keyed crankshaftFurther more instead of handling the situation like an adult, he attacked us multiple times on social mediaWe have also stated to him to have his lawyer contact us directly to resolve a the matterThis is his original purchase. Note that it does not state anywhere about a keyed crankshaft

After the issues were brought to our attention(over 6 months after purchase), Mr. [redacted] was offered to return the motor and turbo kit for us to correct the issue. We offered to cover the cost of shipping his items back as well.He decided not to take this action.  Mr. [redacted] informed us he...

would be getting a lawyer, at this point we stopped all communications with Mr. [redacted] and informed him to have his lawyer contact us going forward.  After this Mr.[redacted]decided on his own accord to make several social media posts, some with threats.  He then proceeded to have another shop tear down his entire motor without authorization from us, neither he or his lawyer contacted us to ask if thiswould be okay or approved.  This voids any warranty implied, we simply can not prove or disprove any of the issues he is claiming to have now with the motor.  Also several times he had reached out to us after hours and became upset when we wouldnt respond after the close of business, we are more than aware that there is a 2 hr time difference, we have done more than try to accomendate Mr. [redacted] with his issues.  After tearing down his motor with no approval fromFJ Performance Inc. we can not offer or provide any type of warranty against his motor. We have also added Mr. [redacted]s posts on facebook after he was upset with the resolution that was offered.

Hello [redacted],I think some things need to be clarified that you didn't seem to understand, that were explained in the conversations with Fran, as well as with Matt previously at least the conversations that he made us aware of, when it came to handling the issues with the "wrong pistons" being...

installed on your motor.Whenever you first pulled your motor it had 16,000 miles on it without issues other than a noise, and so since you were out of warranty you were told to disassemble it to see if you could find anything, that was when you found the "wrong" pistons were installed. It was offered to you, for us to send all the parts at no cost to you that you would require to install the proper pistons and you declined, wanting us and our engine builder to take care of it for you. Which was the first grace that you were given. The reason why I use quotations for certain words is because after we received your motor it was known that there were higher quality pistons installed on your motor than what you actually paid for in the first place. So, that was your second grace, was that fact that those expenses were still covered for you any and all parts that needed to be fixed and replaced due to disassembly done on the motor so it could be reinstalled as soon as you received it back,  including your return shipping, with you being out of warranty. Which means you should have been responsible for those charges in the first place.  When you received it back you felt that it was not the same block and were concerned, even though it was the only Mazda motor at our engine builders at the time, and you were told you run it or send it back. Then instead of installing it or sending it back, you sent us an email complaining about valve lash. To know the measurements that you had issues with, when it came to valve lash, in your email on 9/18/2017. You would have had to have disassembled the motor a SECOND time, this time without being told, and without allowing any run time on the heads to allow the valves to seat properly into the cylinder head. Saying you did so because you "didn't trust" our engine builder. Which is quite odd considering you insisted we take it to him in the first place to have the "proper" pistons installed, when we originally offered to send you the parts required for you to have the engine builder of your choice local to you, take care of the issue for you. Which brings us to the industry standard when it comes to disassembly, we cannot verify how the motor was disassembled, and parts handled to prove what you are saying since it did not happen in our shop or at our engine builders. Then in the same email you requested a full refund, specifically after Fran explained that we would not or ever be issuing refunds on parts or built motors. We stopped responding to your emails, messages and calls because unfortunately, it seemed as if that was the only way we could "resolve" the issues that you are having even after covering costs that were not something that we needed to do in the first place. Now we are being made aware of this coolant passage issue and head stud issues, unfortunately we have to go back to the fact that the motor was disassembled multiple times and we cannot and will not cover any more issues with your motor due to the fact that we cannot prove that these damages were done during disassembly or by any tampering on top of the fact that your motor is long out of warranty. Then your stock cam and buckets issue. Aftermarket cam shafts and buckets are $599.99 from Corksport and from Mazda are for intake cam $275.86 and exhaust cam are $49.00 buckets are anywhere between $6.70-$12.34 each depending on measurement and at most an additional for all 16 buckets would be $197. Therefore cost is $521.86 without tax, list price, at most. Which is less than the costs covered above, for the correct pistons to be installed in your motor. So we are willing to consider it a trade rather than attempting to collect the difference from you. Since it cost $923.28 to install the correct pistons and ship you the motor. Then on 10/20/2017 we were made aware and sent screen shots that you were posting in secret Facebook groups inquiring on our personal phone numbers, mobile and home, which is a clearly threatening action. Since you can look up addresses linked to home numbers. So when it comes to legal action it would be greatly appreciated if you would cease and desist so we do not have to take it against you for harassment. Then starting today, 10/23/2017, with negative facebook comments and posts, its just not something that we feel we can continue to allow. So unfortunately, we had to ban you from our page. Since we cannot and will not post responses, ever, over facebook or social media because it rarely, if ever, leads to a resolution. Resolutions are all we are ever interested in reaching and do not respond to any customers past and future that we feel are not looking for one.We are sorry this is what it had to come to with your engine and your feelings about FJPerformance and our engine builder but unfortunately it has come to pass due to your words and behavior. If I could also be sure to send your attention to our disclaimer on all of our emails, at the very bottom, discussing that further distribution or copying of this email is strictly prohibited, since it is our property. Thank you.Good Luck with your car and your future endeavors. Now if you have any specific questions about this email, and proof of your claims, please feel free to ask.  -- Thank You Fran and Sarah @ FJCONFIDENTIAL AND PRIVILEGED: The information in this e-mail and in any attachments is confidential, privileged, and the property of FJPerfomance, Inc. If you received this message in error, please destroy this message, delete any copies and attachments stored on your systems, and notify the sender immediately. Any further distribution or copying of this message is strictly prohibited. this was the email sent to the customer yesterday 10/23/2017 explaining our place in the situation, after fixing his motor and shipping it backto him for free even though he was out of warranty by 5,000 miles or more. He had better parts in his motor than what he paid for. We even still replaced them with the parts he specificed and sent it back for free. He received it back and due to repairs that had to be made to the block where he removed bolts he felt it wasn’t his, so he was told to run the engine or send it back. Instead he took it apart. And we can not verify those damages indeed existed when they left our shop because he took it apart himself, if there would have been a problem after running the motor we would have requested he send it back to fix it again. And because a few of his stock cam buckets were damaged his stock cams and buckets were unusable because solid roller cams are impossible to use unless you use the exact buckets in the exact place l, he wanted them back to use in a different motor and the engine builder discarded them due to being unable to be used.

Review: On purchased a short block FJ Performance Built engine in December of 2014. Unfortunately, it took FJ Performance Inc. much longer to deliver the product than they stated. I have had multiple issues with FJ Performance Inc. relative to communication, not receiving what was ordered and paid for, and now not settling and/or refusing to respond to yet another complaint. When I ordered and paid for my engine build, I paid for a keyed crank. Not only did I not receive a keyed crank, I received a engine that was out of time, the crank was missing two of the three friction washers, I received the wrong alternator, I have not yet received my full intercooler kit (I'm still missing three (3) silicone pieces and the associated clamps, I didn't receive my oil cooler back, which I shipped to them. These are just a handful of items that I have had to work through over the past sixteen months. This complaint is strictly referring to the keyed crank. I have reached out to both [redacted] and [redacted], the owners of FJ Performance Inc. on multiple occasions (my attorney has a copy of every written correspondence between FJ Performance Inc. and me (include text messages, emails, Facebook Messenger Messages as well as voice mails). At this juncture, I simply want to recover the cost of having the crank properly keyed.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund in the amount needed to remove and haul my engine to a machine shop, have the shop key the crank, and then the time for me to reinstall the engine. I have waited on starting this engine, as I do not want FJ Performance Inc. to suggest that anything ahs been damaged due to running the engine. Additionally, I am looking for a quick resolution as I have been waiting for a repose for some time. I would very much like to keep this out of court, however if FJ Performance Inc. refuses to settle outside of court, I will be forced to file a lawsuit. I greatly appreciate your attention and help wit this matter.

Mr [redacted] informed us of his motor being out of time on 4/23 at 8:41 pm eastern time our shop closes at 6pm eastern time.on 4/24 we refunded the customer $475 plus paid for over night shipping for all the parts to correctly time the motor. At that point he had went to facebook and posted a picture of his motor being out of time. Upon review of the picture we had found out he incorrectly checked timing of his motor. We informed him and didnt ask for him to refund his money. On 3/28 he then claimed he had not had his crank keyed. In our original message there was mention of a keyed crank, after talking with him via phone I explained we no longer keyed our cranks as there is not a needed item. He agreed. None the less a facebook message is not a bill of sale, the original bill of sale does not state a keyed crankshaft. Further more instead of handling the situation like an adult, he attacked us multiple times on social media. We have also stated to him to have his lawyer contact us directly to resolve a the matter. This is his original purchase. Note that it does not state anywhere about a keyed crankshaft.
