I took my car in to Flag City Auto for a problem with the front end I had all kinds of problems with them, including I believe fraud First they charged me more than quoted without calling me to say it would be more I later learned that if the increase is more than a certain percent they have to call you by law, but they failed to do so Next when I picked up the car they charged me for a new idler arm and tie rod end They also claimed to have done an alignment They didn't give me the old parts that they took off the car I didn't think to ask for them and didn't know at the time that the law requires that they give them Taking the car home I didn't feel that the car handled any better than it had before, but I thought that they had at least tried to fix the problem I never suspected that they had lied about doing the repairs Two or three weeks later the ball joint went out on the car and I had to have it towed to a mechanic I took it to a different shop because Flag City didn't do such a great job the first time, but I didn't expect to hear what the 2nd mechanic had to say Flag City never replaced the tie rod end that they charged me for The old one was still on the car! The 2nd mechanic replaced both of them for me and gave me the old ones They had clearly both been on there for years After talking to the 2nd mechanic and describing how the car handled before and after I took it to Flag City Auto he was of the opinion that they most likely never did the front end alignment they charged me for either I went to Flag City Auto to give them a chance to explain and make things right and they just said they would never do such a think When I showed them the old rusty tie rod end they said I couldn't prove that it wasn't the one they had put on a couple weeks before I asked if they thought this part could not only look so old but also have warn out to the point that it needed replacing in just a couple weeks and they didn't answer They mostly dodged and didn't answers my questions, and denied doing anything wrong saying I couldn't prove it They even at one point had one of the guys standing in front of me and another behind me I don't know if this was an attempt to intimidate me or what I believe they charged me for work not done, and parts not purchased for my car Thank you for reading, [redacted]
