Everything on my Seadoo Jet-Ski the work was totally unsatisfactory. What ever they worked on they messed up!I've had my Seadoo Jet-Ski to Flamingo motor sports Twice over the last 2 years. I had the drive shaft and propeller replaced. They forgot to tighten down the The carbone ring which is attached to the bellow. That seal stops water from entering throUgh the drive shaft and in too the bilge. Okay somebody forgot. I noticed 2 line fractures in the PTO Flywheel stem where the drive shaft connects. I also noticed the rubber boot that surrounds the drive shaft and fits over the stem of the PTO Flywheel was smashed in. Indicating they forced the driveshaft in. They denied the line fractures on the flywheel was their fault. The driveshaft was never previously worked on. If the driveshaft was too seperate from the PTO flywheel that's extremely dangerous! I still was taking on water. So I took it back to have that problem corrected and to fix some stress fractures on the fiberglass hull and re-gelcoat the middle of the hull. It took several months and the Jet-Ski was left out in the elements dry roting the seats and oxidizing the fiberglas on the deck. The Hull work was only halfway done and had to be sent back.Just patched , no protective gelcoat. Part of this work also was to put a new carbone ring in and the a new face plate it rides against. It still leaks. They say they test drove it just before I was too pick it up and there was a good amount of dirty stagnant water in the bilge. I could care less if they test rode it, if they did they'd notice it's still taking on wateer. And too boot they took off the back plate where the Jet pump attaches too thinking a leak could be occuring there. Totally sloppy job and doubtful it was leaking! Thet also removed the ride plate and incompetently forgot or didn't know the speed odometer pinwheel assembly is attached to the ride plate. detaching the wire connected to it. No speed odometer. they fixed that. When I looked to see if the hoses where properly attached leading from the Jet pump to the engine. The cooling hoses where reversed. Good thing I knew and spotted the totally neophyte incompetent mistake. In 15 minutes of riding the engine would of seized. They would of denied that too! I can't say for sure but it looks like they put the old carbone ring back on and that is not going to properly mate to the new face plate it rides against. Now I have to take it too a competent Seadoo mechanic and get it corrected. They have been nothing but a nightmare when all I want is for it too be fixed right and I can enjoy the JET-SKI. And it's an easy one too work on To ! Incompetence and uncaring shoddy work after shoddy work. I wouldn't take a tricycle to them period!Desired SettlementTo pay to have the carbone ring problem solved by another Seadoo Dealer! Their work can not be trusted!Business Response I am sorry that Mr. [redacted] is again having difficulty with his 18 year old watercraft. It seems as though he may be confused as to when his machine was actually serviced. It was first brought to us the 10th of July, 2013. He reported to us a problem with the PWC lacking power, as well as a possible fuel leak. The driveshaft was in fact sheered and obviously in need of repair. It is my recollection that he was advised to strongly consider his decision to repair this boat, as the cost of repairs would exceed the value. He decided to fix it. So we did. The unit was repaired and ready for return to him on the 19th and you picked it up on the 20th. We replaced the driveshaft and prop, installed new wear ring , and replaced jet pump oil. We also programmed a second key, at his request. A new temperature switch was required, so it was installed. We also replaced the oil filter and tightened clamps on all oil lines. Those jobs were completed only one time. As for the flywheel, we informed him that these marks were there as a result of someone using an improper tool for removal. They were not fractures, they were marks. They do not affect the operation of the unit, and they could have been put there in any of the 16 years that the boat was in use. Mr. [redacted] did not purchase this boat new. He claims that the driveshaft was never previously worked on, but he had not owned it since new. It is our position that these marks were pre-existing.These parts were again removed(not repaired), when Mr. [redacted] decided that he wanted to have the hull repaired through a company we subcontracted with. Mr. [redacted] questioned why the carbon seal was not replaced when the previous work was being done. It was explained to him that there was no indication that it needed to be replaced at that point. The unit was brought into the dealership on 8/26/2013 to prep the machine to have the hull repaired. It was done so at the end of August to allow for the hull repairs to take place over the winter. Again, we advised Mr. [redacted] that spending this kind of money on a machine already not in the best condition and 16 years old is ill advised. Nevertheless, the machine was sent off to have the hull repaired in September. It was returned to us in June. During the winter months it was stored inside. The dry rot and fading were due to the age of the boat and was existing at the time that the boat was first brought to us.At this point we reinstalled all of the components that were required to be be removed. We did replace the carbon ring at this point because with the ride plate disassembled and Mr. [redacted] insisted that it be replaced. He makes a few references to a new ride plate. He did not purchase one from us, so if there is a new ride plate, it was from another dealer. We did water test the boat, it ran fine. It was not taking on water, nor do I recall any dirty, stagnant water being left in the bilge. Parts were not removed to diagnose a leak, they were removed for the hull to be repaired. As for the speedometer pinwheel, Mr. [redacted] never indicated that there was a problem with it, but when he came in to pick it up, it was the very first thing that he went to. Upon inspection, we did find that there was a poor connection and it was repaired on the spot. This leads me to believe that there was an issue all along and he wanted to make it our fault. Mr. [redacted]'s problems with the cooling hoses must have come from somewhere else, as they were not required to be removed at any point during the work that was performed. It is unfortunate that Mr. [redacted] continues to have issues with his 18 year old boat. This is why we strongly recommended that he not repair it. While we understand his frustration, we did nothing wrong in regards to repair of this vehicle and maintain that the issues that he is having are related to the age and previous neglect.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)They are lying period and incompetent. They removed the back haul plate and in order to do so had to disconnect the cooling lines! As I said they were reversed in which if I didn't discover the engine would of seized after 10-15 minutes. That plate probably was not causing the water entering the bilge! The carbon ring is throwing water on video I took ! I will see these incompetent shysters in court! They smashed in the boot that meets the PTO flywheel. We'll see if the PTO flywheel is an indentation. That drive shaft was never previously removed. They also let the Jet-Ski out in the elements dry rotting and discoloring the seats and oxidizing the fiberglass ! I wouldn't take a tricycle to be fixed there. Some [redacted] obviosly didn't know the cooling lines proper connection! Thsy [redacted]!Final Business Response We are a platinum certified Seadoo dealer with 3 factory trained technicians. The problems that Mr. [redacted] speaks of did not happen here. He did not purchase the boat new and cannot be sure of any maintenance performed before he took ownership. In order to resolve this issue, we are willing to compensate another AUTHORIZED Seadoo dealer $125 to perform the repair he claims is necessary. This is half of the estimated job. We will not reimburse Mr. [redacted], we will pay the dealer $125 directly.
