Drew is talking about the back side of the house that he watch me struggling to reinforce ( I am not the roofer, he is ) instead of do what I paid him to doNow the front of the roof is showing weak spots and all this because MrG [redacted] rush finishing the roof leaving the old tar paper on the roof, his DAD was in town and he rushed to finish the roofI did offer him to pay for material only and he packed and left, I should let him fix the roof and then ask him to get off my roof but I am a good guyI need my roof to be repaired

At the time of the roof installation Eddie (homeowner) asked about a weak spot in the wood deckWe looked at the wood in question, and mutually agreed to leave the existing wood in placeHe went into the attic space and observed that the framing was done poorlyWe shored up the wood by adding
nails to the decking on both sidesEddie said "It's fine" and to go ahead with the shinglingI then received a phone call with his concern of soft woodHe said it was not an immediate concern, as it was not leakingWhen I went to his home, we went on the roof to see his concernWe agreed that I would come back and remove the shingles, install some framing, and install new paper and shingles in that areaI told him the cost would be between $800- $1,He agreed to these termsWhen I returned, to do the work Eddie and I agreed on, he told me that he would not pay me the agreed upon priceAt that point, I packed up my tools and the material that I had already purchased to do the job, and I left because he had broken our verbal agreementHe yelled at me for awhile and I calmly left

When Mr*** and I walked the project to set the scope of work, we walked together on the roof and a portion of our conversation was about areas of "spongeyness" on the roofAs is always the case with both potential and repeat customers, we assess the nature of the problem, provide clarity on code requirements, and discuss available solution options within the framework of both the code and the available budgetwe then agree on price, terms, and conditions and proceed with the work.In the transaction with Mr***, he had a very clear budgetary desire based on an already-agreed insurance settlementAt every step in the process, Mr*** was decidedly budget conscious, and he chose the options that best suited his fiscal needs, and not necessarily the best long-term solution that was available to insure a long, worry-free customer experienceAt that point, my task is clearly to provide the product that the customer agrees to pay forAnd that is precisely what we did.If Mr*** does not believe that to be the case, I am certainly willing to sit down with him, and his insurance appraiser, and we can retrace our steps through every detail of this contract to find an accurate accounting of the factsPerhaps that will suggest a workable solution that we can all live withI always want to be solutions-minded in creating satisfied customersAll I am asking in return is to not be expected to provide services for a customer who clearly stated they were not interested in contracting for those services from our initial conversation forward
