Review: flatrate carpet gave me an estimate to clean a rug of cat urine smell from a new cat. The rug has in very good condition with no visible stains, just a strong odor of cat urine from a small area when the cat had peed. Flatrate Carpet old me they could remove the smell, cost $175. When they returned the 'cleaned' carpet is still reeked of cat urine. I called them back and they said they would clean it again. This happened 4 or 5 more times!! Each time the carpet was 'cleaned' it came back looking more worn, still smelling of cat pee but also strong chemical smells. After the 4th or 5th time I realized the carpet was ruined from both the cat peeing on it and flatrate's 'cleaning' which made it smell worse than ever and the carpet look worn. I posted a review on [redacted] recounting my experience with Flatrate Carpet and shortly thereafter they contacted me and said they wanted to make the situation right. I told them I appreciated this but I had lost confidence in their ability to get the smells out of the carpet...I could look past the wear from all the additional 'cleanings.' They assured me they had a new 'plant manager' who would be able to clean the carpet properly. Flatrate carpet also offered to refund my money and asked that I delete my negative [redacted] review. I told them I'd delete the review when the carpet no longer smelled bad. When the carpet was scheduled to be delivered the driver called to confirm that I was home. He told me that he had a check for me but that he couldn't give it to me until the [redacted] review was removed. I told him that I would remove the [redacted] review when the odors were removed from the carpet. A few minutes later the office called and said that they would not refund my money until the [redacted] review was removed. I waited until 11am when they were supposed to deliver the carpet and they never showed up. They still have my carpet.Desired Settlement: refund of my $175 and the replacement of the carpet which is 5 years old, cost $800 at the time of purchase.

Review: We hired this company to do a green cleaning of our area rug. It was returned to us by a person that did not speak any English and did not offer any instructions as to when the rug should be unrolled, and after about a week of time the rug was unrolled only to be filled with black mold. We have since documented this problem and consulted health professionals that have deemed the rug a complete loss. After contacting the company they have offered to re-clean the rug but we DO NOT under any circumstances was a once moldy run in our home with our 3 small (all under 5) children. The company has been contacted and is since in possession of the rug but they have not many ANY reasonable offer of compensation. The person that my wife and I spoke with [redacted] was verbally bullying and abusive in his tone.Desired Settlement: We expect to be compensated for the value of the rug. That value can be determined by an outside appraiser.
