Review: My company contracted to host their holiday party on Dec **, 2014 at [redacted] in the Flatiron Hotel. The rooftop access which was promised as part of our space, was blocked from use. The security personnel which we paid for were ineffective (My staff personally had to ask for 4 unauthorized guests to leave- and one was very large and hostile). The venue provided ONE beer choice for an open beer/wine bar. The staff at the venue was unprofessional, could not explain why the roof had been locked, and my 65 guests were overcrowded, hot and very unhappy. The evening was a complete disaster and the event manager who I had been dealing with since the beginning was not on site during our event and was not responsive to calls, texts or emails I sent during the event. My credit card was charged the full amount of the party, without my authorization. The event manager refuted my complaints with lies saying that they informed us about restricted roof access (completely untrue), as well as various other fallacies. Even the food was a disappointment. Bacon wrapped shrimp were skewered so that your first bite was the SHRIMP TAIL SHELL. Every shrimp was improperly prepared, resulting in the food getting stuck in guest's dental work. The windows of the venue were covered and it took over one hour to have the window coverings removed. I have been in event planning for over 20 years and this was the worst event I have ever witnessed.Desired Settlement: Settlement of one half of the charges (to pay for consumed food/beverage only). We will not pay for venue space or venue security. [redacted] is also involved with this dispute.
