Fleming Appliance Service

Owner no-showed for appointment to replace 90-day warrantied part when it failed 13 days post-installation. Refuses to answer calls/return voicemail. On December 23, 2013, we called the owner of Fleming Appliance Service because our refrigerator had stopped cooling. He came out on December 24 and said it we needed a new air duct between the freezer and refrigerator. He ordered the part and returned on December 27, 2013 and installed the new part, which he stated was warrantied for 90 days. We paid $195 by check, which he cashed that same day (December 27). On January 9, the same problem arose with the refrigerator not cooling. I began calling the owner at 10:00 a.m. and called several times that day, leaving messages each time but received no return call. Frustrated, I asked my husband to try from his cell phone (a number the owner wouldn't recognize), and he answered immediately and said that he would be at our house between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. on January 10. He never showed up, and despite more than 20 phone calls from my husband and myself on January 10, the owner refused to answer the call, and he never responded to the numerous voicemails we left. Five days later (and after a visit from another repair person, who has confirmed that the part he installed is defective), we still cannot reach him, and he has not returned any of our calls.Desired Settlement$195 refund for defective work product and defective part for which the warranty was not honored and which another service provider had to correct at additional cost to us.
