Fletcher Restorations

Review: [redacted] Fletcher gave me a start date of Monday, September 30, 2013. He said it would take about a week to complete under 10 home inspection items.I gave him a downpayment of $1,223.00 om Sept 19. He assured me that these items would be completed before our move-in date. He chose the week that we can move in, which was Oct 14. We could have moved at any time prior to December 2013.We also asked for estimates on several other items and gave him another downpayment for those new items on Oct 7 of $1,450.00. I sent him a picture of what we wanted the stairwell to look like when completed. One of the first things that [redacted] started was to knock down the stairwell wall. We have had a half-wall with no railing, dust all over since we moved in on Oct 14. [redacted] told me that the stairwell estimate was much less than he anticipated, but would not give me a new price.In the off-chance, that he did return my text messages, [redacted] gave me various due dates when he would return my phone calls or when he would return to work, but then rarely would he would he adhere to them. The text messages were piece-meal, did not totally answer my questions, and gave vague answers.A few weeks later on Oct 22, due to his lack of response, not showing up, not returning two emails or several calls, and bogus estimates, we opted for only opening up the stairwell and putting up a railing. I told him this via text and email, both of which did not receive a response until a several days later. He finally admitted that he had been sick (2 ear infections and a stomach virus), he lost two workers, and underestimated the cost of the job. He finally returned my call on November 19, explained everything to me. And we mutually agreed that this wasnt working, and he would return all of my money by Nov 25. It is now Dec 3, and he has close to $3,000 from me and has only half knocked down a wall and applied silver coating to a roof, which he spilled all down the side of my house (I need to replace the siding it is on).Desired Settlement: All that I want is a refund of the money back that I gave him -- $2,673. (I'm not even looking for extra costs for the repairs to the side of the house from the silver coating.)
