Ridiculous warranty!
I just went to try to ship the two required 4” inch ends of my busted five year warrantied Flexon medium duty hose. The hose cost $11 and shipping costs almost $9. Plus I have to pay return shipping on a new hose which puts the total at well over $20 to collect on the warranty. It’s cheaper to buy a new hose and the warranty requirements are ridiculous.

I purchased a Flexon professional commercial grade hose last year, with a lifetime warranty. This year I tried to use it for the first time, I hooked it up to a power washer. When I turned on the hose, it immediately sprung a leak. I do not have the original sales receipt any more, but would not buy another of these hoses based upon this experience.

Review: I have two Flexon Garden Hoses that were purchased in 2010 with 7 year warranties, but have proved defective well before that time. However, it is their policy to have the customer send in the metal hose ends along with warranty specs from packaging and the receipt of purchase in order to have the hose warranty replaced free of charge. For me personally, it is already awful that the hose didn't perform near the duration of the warranty, but to have to pay my shipping to return the spout ends in order to get a new hose (and in this case, two). I prepared all of my materials to send the hoses along with a letter describing the situation (which they don't ask for) only to find from USPS, UPS and Fed Ex that shipping ranges from $8.76 to $13.13. These hoses were priced low but are very seemingly depicted as durable, hence "heavy duty" and a "7 year warranty" on the packaging. My total for the two hoses was actually 28.94 + 2.57/tax = $31.51. Now to pay almost a 1/3 or more (depending who I chose to send), is insane. for the amount I am sending I possible to could get two more hose for just a little more. Besides, these hose were definitely over priced. Plus, I have already replaced them, because here in [redacted] I have to water frequently to keep our lawns looking nice. Yet, I already threw away another of this same hose last year, that I didn't want to bother with having to send in the metal spout ends. Yet, since these two failed on me this year (and I saw it coming last year before summer was over), I felt like I needed to take them up on that warranty. But I don't see how it's either cost effective or fair to have to pay an inordinate amount to have what they want shipped back to them. I mean, this feels like an additional loss to get only 1 win. So, I just brought my package back home and elected to voice my complaint this way.Desired Settlement: I know there must be a better way (on the customer) to do this. I mean, this is their product that failed quickly. It certainly isn't as durable and withstanding as seemingly indicated by package information. However, I do want to feel relief from losing out on the warranty for both a 2nd and 3rd time. I could just fax or email a copy of my receipts and take a refund which would at least partially cover my replacement hoses. I just like getting good quality products that will do what they say or indicate they will. I am an avid lawn and gardener, so water hoses are a integral part of this hobby. I hate to complain about this, but that shipping in all options (the cheapest being Fed Ex @ the $8.76) is ridiculous. Besides the replacements, if manufactured the same as the others I have had, will like fail in a similar manner.

Review: On 01-12-15 Flexon Industries in Newark,NJ received via USPS my portions of a lifetime warranty hose pursuant to Flexon's instructions. As of this date of 05-20-15, I have not received any warranty replacement for this hose, even though I have called several times requesting

an answer to my replacement. They continue to tell me that my claim is being "expedited",

but to no avail.

Thank you: Desired Settlement: Replacement of my original purchase

Response:

Review: I purchased a Flexon 100' commercial P56 hose from [redacted] for $22 on 4/28/2012. The hose has a 7 year warranty on it. Talking to [redacted] I need to have the defective hose replaced by the manufacturer Flexon. I need a replacement hose since the hose is defective -- it kinks, shrivels, and does not work properly despite being stored inside a garage in the winter.Desired Settlement: I would like either a replacement hose of the correct quality or a refund of $22.
