This explanation is regarding complaint ID # ***Ms*** *** came to us early May to request information about our schoolShe was interested in becoming an Aircraft Dispatcher and was looking for the certification that we provideOur class has a cost of $dollars, but because she worked at Hawaiian Air, we gave her a $discountShe enrolled in our July 3rd classMy business partner and I spend countless our prior to class talking to her about the class expectations, the costs associated with it, and provided free tutoring. In order to enroll in class there is a $non-refundable deposit that must be paidThis was explained to her prior to her enrolling in class and it’s clearly stated in our website, the same one used to register ***She received a free subscription to help her pass her FAA mandated written exam, the company gave it as a gift, it had a cost of $75. Days prior to class Ms*** received a student handbookOn it it explains in detail our refund policy, a policy that had already been discussed over the phone to her several timesattached is the student handbook with the refund policyIt is clearly stated in bold in page If the student wishes to discontinue class on the first week of class, the student will receive a 75% refund, on the second week of class a 50% refund and no refund after that. Class started on June 3rdMs*** walked out of class on June 6thBy this point, the refund policy had been explained over the phone by both me and my business partner Joshua LaBoy more than once, she had seen it prior to class on her student handbook, and was reviewed on the first day of class by the instructor. I wrote Ms*** on June 10th asking her for feedback and for an address to process her refundOn July 16th she replied with an address of P.OBox, 593, Haleiwa HI I have attached the email chain of conversations as wellHer refund was processed and a corporate check was sent to the provided address to arrive no later than August 8thSince it was a corporate check, the money was removed from our account so it would be available for her immediately. On August 22nd we received a message from out bank stating that the check was undeliverable to that addressI have checked the address again and again to verify it was the correct address and it isOn August 23rd I reached out to Ms*** to verify the correct address since it was undeliverable and have not heard from her since. At Flight Ops Academy we have successfully trained our students to become dispatchers, we have an excellent reputation from our current and former studentsOur students have all found successful jobs and employers are very satisfied with the resultsBecoming a dispatcher is not an easy task, it takes dedication and organizationThis is clearly advised to all our students, and that is why we have been successful in what we do. We beliebe we were extremely patient and fair with Ms***If she is to provide us with a proper address we would kindly send her another check.
