Dear [redacted], Thank you for your reply and we are sorry to learn that you remain dissatisfied. As discussed, you have cancelled your booking due to which the owner’s cancellation policy has been applied. In accordance with the policy, which is 50% of the rental cost, you have received a refund of 662.5 USD. This consists of 262.50 USD (which is 50% of the rental cost) and 400.00 USD damage deposit. Please kindly note, that as per the cancellation policy you have agreed to at the time of booking, you are not eligible for any further refunds and the remaining amount has been forwarded to the owner. However, following your complaint our customer relations team has reviewed your claim and found that this was cancelled very shortly after it was confirmed. On that basis, our team has made you a goodwill gesture offer of the booking fee charged to your booking. Please respond to our email, which outlined the details of our offer to accept or let us know should you have any further questions in reply to the email. the owner and if you are cancelling the booking for any reason, then they do have the right to apply this. When making the deposit, the cancellation was shown to you and by making the payment you agreed to it.  If you are unable to travel due to unforeseen circumstances, then we highly recommend contacting your travel insurance provider to discuss getting a refund from them. We will keep you updated as soon as we will receive any reply from the owner.Many Thanks,[redacted] – [redacted] Customer Care

I am rehecting the businesses offer because I originally paid flip key/trip advisor not the owner I have also tried numerous times to contact the owner who has stated he has blocked my emails and my contacts via phone or text I have had no contact again I have the original check he sent me and a letter stating that he offered to refund as well as the text messages stating that if we left the condo we would get a refund. If he didn't offer that we would've stayed and continued our vacation. He sent the check and then immediately stopped payment on the check so I cannot cash it. Flip key has also stated that they would help me contact the owner but I have sent numerous emails stating that I cannot get a hold of the owner and I have not had any assistance at all!

The attached photos support my claim:-Photo 1:  Email from Flipkey with note from [redacted] telling me "not to worry, your dates are still good..." If I wanted to cancel this reservation then I would not be concerned about my dates being good and there would be no reason for him to add that comment to the cancellation.-Photo 2: Text screenshot to Miss [redacted] while in Jamaica.  I was told that Miss [redacted] is the property owner and mother of [redacted].  Miss [redacted] said she did not know about my reservation and that [redacted] went behind her back to make this booking.-Photo 3: [redacted] screenshot to [redacted] on July 30, 2015.  If I had asked him to cancel my booking there would be no reason for me to be in contact with him asking him to confirm that my reservation is good.  There would also be no reason for [redacted] to reply back that he was "looking for my phone number" or to tell me "he had my dates booked".-Photo 4: Text screenshot of the messages that I sent to [redacted] upon my arrival in Jamaica.  The property security  guards told me that another guest checked into the unit.  Again, if I had cancelled this booking there would be no reason for me to contact [redacted] OR to arrive at his unit to try and check in.The Flipkey loophole is what allowed [redacted] to commit this fraud and take my money.  I trusted Flipkey and booked in good faith that I would have a place to stay during my vacation.  [redacted] took my money and ignored my numerous requests for my money back.  Had Flipkey had a process in place for renter protection when I made my reservation none of this would have happened.  I am due my full deposit amount from Flipkey.  ?Regards,

I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.   This business has terrible customer service practices which required me to spend hours to get this payment.  Nobody at the business was prepared to act to resolve this issue prior to getting the Revdex.com involved.
