Floor Houston Reviews (33)

I am totally satisfied with their great service. A few days ago I purchased wood floor and they provided more than the high quality wood floor. Now my wife is so much happier. Price was so good. Excellent customer service. I highly recommended them!!

I recently purchased wood floor from Houston Floors and it turned out as promised. The sales support were very knowledgeable of their products and they gave expert advice concerning installation and floor finish. Everything looks very natural and authentic and I know it will stand the test of time. Now everyone compliments us on the floor as soon as they come in our kitchen and we enjoy going barefoot because of the oil finish, and it also feels great. I highly recommend these floors and the company!!!

This client is very violent and harrassive. He did parts of his home’s flooring in stages to save $$. We did the first floor, then stairs, then upstairs common areas then the...

bedrooms since the floors were installed separately. We cannot connect the floors together since the direction of the flooring is not going the same way. Also the duck and groove of the floors do not connect, so we installed transition moldings between the door ways of the bedrooms. The client [redacted] made all the decisions via phone - since he is always out of town his [redacted] was making the final decisions at the home when we did installation. She approved this and we did as she asked us to do - [redacted] was referred to us by his friends and family. Just for the record I just did his neighbor’s flooring down the street - [redacted]. - [redacted] was sent from [redacted] - so I do not understand why he would refer people to us if he was not happy with the work? Also why did he keep using my company repeatedly if we did not meet his standards every time? Also he has left us a very rude and disturbing review on [redacted], and [redacted] even removed it because of the fowl and offensive words he chose to write. I have attached a screen shot of proof of this.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Apparently 10 months after my initial complaint, **. [redacted] finally cared about my complaint and had time to reply, but intentionally and selectively "forgot" lot of details and facts.
As a "professional" floor worker or boss, **. [redacted] said he does not understand about "felt pads". Who believes it! He told me to buy felt pads from [redacted]! Actually felt pads should be free from **. [redacted], otherwise how could his workers move furniture in my house after installing the laminate, since tearing up existing floors and moving furniture were included. His worker [redacted] should provide them since they had to move furniture around in the house and put felt pads under the furniture to protect the floor. His worker [redacted] even wanted to charge me for some felt pads he bought and I refused.
**. [redacted] also said he didn't even know [redacted] who worked for him really? **. [redacted] texted me [redacted]'s cell phone number and sent him to do inspection at my house and also confirmed that he received [redacted]'s report. Although **. [redacted] might delete his message records, I kept them. **. [redacted] may say everything is not covered under the manufacture warranty, but I will let the Judge to decide what is covered and what is not covered under the warranty he provided. ([redacted])
Now **. [redacted] is saying the language barrier was a big issue with me. Apparently he didn't have that language barrier to get my business.
Finally advice to **. [redacted], please do not do business with people with language barrier in the first place, and if you do want to, please do it according to the rules, otherwise you will have more "wrong" bad reviews.
Best regards to Revdex.comhou,
[redacted]
History:

Our response: First, I do not understand what he is trying to say about "felt pads". I do not sell felt pads, and nor has a person named [redacted] ever worked for me. The chipping of the laminate is not covered under the manufacture warranty. Here is the link to the manufacture warrant details. I emailed him this information back in [redacted] of [redacted]
We will be more than happy to fix the chipped laminate, but because it is not covered under the manufacture warranty, nor was it an installation problem, then he would need to pay for materials and installation.
P.s. the language barrier was a big issue with this client. It was very hard to understand any phone calls or emails with him. Maybe that is why he misunderstood and wrongly gave us a bad review.
[redacted]

Our response: Customer still has a balance of $1,900.00, that she never paid. The master closet was not included in the...

quote, which is indicated in the invoice that I have attached. Customer was to provide the laminate for the office herself, but she only had 80 sq ft and the office was 135 sq ft. We could not finish the installation because there was not enough laminate to finish the job. The customer refused to purchase more material and refused to pay her balance. We will  be more than happy to finish the installation of the office when she pays the remaining balance of $1,900, and purchases the laminate needed to finish the job. Or if she does not want that, we would at least like the balance paid, deducting the labor, which would make her balance now $1,820.

We recently purchased the oak wood floor from this company for our weekend house. Houston Floors were very helpful and knowledgeable and provided great advice on what would work best for our needs and budget. They provided the high quality at a very reasonable price. Installation was performed professionally, they were able to complete the entire job on-time and the price was exactly as quoted with no surprise charges. I plan on using Houston Floors again in the future.

Great price. Well done work. I used Floor Houston for a 3800 sq ft home and their crew did a great job. I saved thousands with their prices. I also found they had a large selection. 3rd time using them and I recommend.
I also want to note that I had a rental house project and a small budget, and although they couldn't meet my budget for this job (it was pretty small), they knew someone that could and stocked lesser quality carpet. Very appreciative of that referral as well.

Floor Houston did a wonderful job with my laminate flooring. They were very helpful with color selection and what would work best in my home for the best price. It was such a wonderful experience. I have just never had anything go so swift and smoothly. Very kind crew and they did an such wonderful job. It only took a day to complete the whole house. I love my floors they are amazing and I highly recommend this company.

Houston Flooring One has been excellent to deal with. We've recently redesigned the interior of our home. We needed high quality wood and ceramic tile and we got everything from Houston Flooring One. The prices were really reasonable and the quality of the materials was better then any other store in the area. Very impressed. Will recommend them to all I come in contact with.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  This response is totally inaccurate and full of lies.
I will address each point:
1.  I absolutely do  not owe this company anything. There is no contractor that I know of who goes ahead and does $1900 worth of work without you paying them. I have two signed handwritten receipts (and I insisted on being given these) whereby their subcontractor, [redacted] ([redacted]), gave me. The first $1900 was paid on the first day [redacted] before they would perform any work and the second receipt on [redacted] before they began the remaining work. '[redacted]', I guess their front man or salesman, who  I had communicated with all along and purchased the flooring from, told me to give the money to [redacted].
2. The master closet was indeed included in the quote and I have the copy to prove it. I don't know what copy they provided the Revdex.com, but my copy indicates that it was. I would suspect that '[redacted]' who was the person or the company somehow doctored another document by removing it.
3. The 'office' (which is a bedroom) was included in the quote as labor only because I had some additional laminate that I wanted to use for that. It was suggested by [redacted] that I should keep it all consistent and the [redacted]e type of laminate all over the downstairs so I said to go ahead and use what I purchased from Floor Houston and I would purchase more laminate from them to cover what would be lacking for the upstairs.
4. The closet measured 80 sq ft and [redacted] indicated that I did not have enough which I already knew that I would need more. I told him that I would contact [redacted] to purchase more and [redacted] would return in a day or so after I had the additional flooring. After several phone calls to [redacted], he finally returned my  call to ask me if I had paid [redacted] (which I had) the remaining balance and that he could not contact [redacted].  I reiterated that I have the receipt from [redacted] for the payment and [redacted] said, "no problem, I guess he will contact me soon".  [redacted] agreed that I only need one more box and he would get someone else to come out and install my laminate. I was ready to purchase the box but after texts to [redacted] for him to respond and let me know when I could pick up the additional flooring and who was going to install it and me threatening to take him to court, [redacted] finally said "to do what I had to do".
Regards,
[redacted]

I will address each point:
1.  I absolutely do  not owe this company anything. There is no contractor that I know of who goes ahead and does $1900 worth of work without you paying them.
As we stated, **. [redacted] made a payment of $1,900, which is half. We have provided the invoice for this.
I have two signed handwritten receipts (and I insisted on being given these) whereby their subcontractor, [redacted]), gave me. The first $1900 was paid on the first day [redacted] before they would perform any work and the second receipt on [redacted] before they began the remaining work. '[redacted]', I guess their front man or salesman, who  I had communicated with all along and purchased the flooring from, told me to give the money to [redacted].
Receipts are given by the company of Floor Houston. Our installers do not give out hand written receipts to our customers. The client would receive a receipt from our company since the initial agreement of the installation was done between Floor Houston and **. [redacted]. Any agreements done between the client and the installer is not Floor Houston's responsibility.
[redacted] is the owner of the company. He helped her with the sales process only.
Payments given to our installer are only allowed after a paid receipt is given to a client.
2. The master closet was indeed included in the quote and I have the copy to prove it. I don't know what copy they provided the Revdex.com, but my copy indicates that it was. I would suspect that '[redacted]' who was the person or the company somehow doctored another document by removing it.
Please provide this proof.
The invoice has been emailed to **. [redacted] to her email address. Invoice #[redacted], there was no doctored copy made of this invoice. She needs to look through her e-mail to find this copy, as we have already provided this to Revdex.com.
I dont understand where the complaint in this statement is.
4. The closet measured 80 sq ft and [redacted] indicated that I did not have enough which I already knew that I would need more. I told him that I would contact [redacted] to purchase more and [redacted] would return in a day or so after I had the additional flooring.
We stated to **. [redacted] that we would complete any additional areas after she placed the order for the additional wood, but she refused to order anymore wood.
After several phone calls to [redacted], he finally returned my  call to ask me if I had paid [redacted] (which I had) the remaining balance and that he could not contact [redacted].
Yes it is correct, **. [redacted] did call [redacted] and [redacted] stated he would not be able to do the additional work scope add on until she purchased the additional material to complete the job and pays the remainder balance of the completed work scope as agreed.
I reiterated that I have the receipt from [redacted] for the payment and [redacted] said, "no problem, I guess he will contact me soon".
We can only honor receipts from us directly, Floor Houston. Our installers are not allowed to write hand-written receipts. This sounds completely fabricated.
[redacted] agreed that I only need one more box and he would get someone else to come out and install my laminate.
Yes [redacted] agreed to do that, after the balance is paid in full.
I was ready to purchase the box but after texts to [redacted] for him to respond and let me know when I could pick up the additional flooring and who was going to install it and me threatening to take him to court, [redacted] finally said "to do what I had to do".
Yes **. [redacted] has threatened [redacted] and Floor Houston several times regarding this issue. The issue can be resolved very simply, **. [redacted] can pay her balance and purchase the additional laminate flooring and we will be more than happy to complete the installation of the additional work order.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
First of all, it is **. [redacted], I am a female. We do not sell felt pads nor did we ask you to buy felt pads. If you look through the invoice we did not sell felt pads, and you installed them at your own choice. Felt pads are not required to move furniture because the installers do not slide the furniture across the floor, they pick up the furniture and place it down where it needs to go. We are not responsible for the felt pads damaging the floors, because you purchased these yourself from a different company at wall-mart. What these felt pads do have nothing to do with us.
His worker [redacted] should provide them since they had to move furniture around in the house and put felt pads under the furniture to protect the floor. His worker [redacted] even wanted to charge me for some felt pads he bought and I refused.
We do not sell felt pads, and you just admitted that we did not provide the felt pads to you, so again the damage made by the felt pads was not our responsibility or our fault.
In your initial claim you referred to a person "[redacted]", that is who we are claiming we do not know. We do have an installer named [redacted], if that is who you were trying to refer to.
As you have read and seen the warranty coverage, we would like to help you with this situation even though it is not our fault. We can do the repairs at our cost price, to help you out. Let us know when you would like us to fix your floors and we can give you a price of how much it will cost, since this problem is not covered under the material or installation warranty
