Thank you for taking the time to look into this complaintWe appreciate the opportunity to respond with the entire story of what happened in this situation.*** *** is a painterHe was doing some painting work at a local dentistry office and he spilled some chemical on the carpet (likely
paint thinner)This spill ruined the carpetThe dentist instructed *** to get this fixed at ***'s expense.*** called us and asked for a quick price over the phone to complete a simple 1'x1' carpet patchWe offer free measuring and estimates, so Bryan (who answered the phone call) told him we would need to come look at the damaged area before giving a final quote, but informed him that our minimum charge is $if it is truly a simple carpet patch. We then went and looked at the carpet damageAttached is a picture of the damage done to the carpetAs you can see from the picture the area damaged is about 3'x3', not the smaller 1'x1' area he is claiming. The main issue is that *** told us the owner of the building told him we could cut a piece of carpet from another office (their computer room) and use this for the patchHe told us the owner of the building was fine with leaving a hole in the computer office carpet. When we asked the owner (Dr***) about this, he said absolutely notIf we are going to cut his other carpet that carpet would need to be replaced as wellWe then communicated this to *** that we would complete the patch for him, but then we also need to bill him for replacing the entire carpet in the computer officeHe told us to proceed with the work. The computer office is a small room, whereas the actual damage occurred in the larger main lobbyIf we were to re-carpet the lobby the cost would have been several thousand dollars, which is why they agreed to the patch and replace the smaller room option. The final bill came to $459.24, of which *** made a $paymentHe is now refusing to pay the rest of the bill, and he conveniently leaves out the fact that we had to do the patch PLUS re-carpeting another entire room (since we had to cut the carpet in that room to get material for the carpet patch)Also, as we told ***, had the owner actually requested the main lobby area be replaced (where the damage was done) it would have likely costed several thousand dollars to re-carpet that entire roomHe is extremely lucky the owner would even accept a carpet patch, which saved him a lot of money. After the patch was agreed to by the owner (with the condition that we re-carpet the computer office) *** had requested we provide him with a quote for re-carpeting the entire main lobby area with new carpetHe was hoping to turn the larger quote into his insurance company and only have to pay for the smaller quote (which was the carpet patch)We refused to provide him with this quote, as we will not be an accessory to insurance fraudAs you can see when all the facts of this situation come to light, Mr*** is not being truthfulWe do not appreciate him repeatedly trying to post negative reviews to our Revdex.com website, as our rating is something we take great pride in maintaining Attached please find the recent letter our Vice President (Jim ***) sent to Mr***Also please find the attached image of the carpet damage Thank you for your time in reviewing these details

I am rejecting this response because:
1)The office staff where the repair was made can verify Bryan came by to do and estimate as well as estimator from a different company.2) After giving me there low ball price, I informed my client they were going to be doing the work, I was told about Drconcerns about trying a patch and I informed my contact that I had already requested estimate for entire lobby area and the Drcould speak to Bryant himself, the Drspoke to Bryant and he assured the Drthe patch would work.3)He wnt back to pick up a key to access office prior to job being performed.I hereby ask you to verify with office staff where work was preformed Thank you, *** ***
