I had Floors 2 U (F2U) install floors in two bathrooms. The easiest way to describe my dealings with Floors 2 U will be in the form of a flow chart:- initial installer "no-call no-showed" the first day of scheduled installation- after calling F2U, we agreed to have the installers come the next day to complete the install- again, the installers did not show up. So again, I called the owner Terry, and he said he'd contact the installers and get back to me within 30 minutes. 45 minutes later when nobody had called me back, I called him back and he had left. The employee I spoke to told me Terry had left for his grand daughters play. In a later conversation, he told me that he left as he received a phone call from his brother saying that his father had died (this is proven untrue as his father died in January 2014[http://obits.cleveland.com/obituaries/cleveland/obituary.aspx?pid=**SSN**], while the installation took place in early Dec 2013, rendering the death of his father impossible to coincide with the installation)- The installation took 2 days instead of the scheduled 1; the installer left the final day at 1:30am- One of the toilets was not put on correctly- rocked and begun leaking after the installation- One repairman came to fix the rocking toilet, but the leak persisted- After calling Terry on a Tuesday and following up again later in the week, finally on Saturday a repairman was told to call me to come fix the leaking toilet. They did not come the day we initially agreed on (called to cancel after the agreed-upon repair time). The repairs were finished the following evening and payment was finally made for all workAfter these dealings, it is clear that Floors 2 U is a very unprofessional company that cannot keep proper communication with their customers. I have never filed a complaint with a company as I'm a patient person, but with persistent neglect as well as proven lies from an Owner to a Customer, I would heavily recommend finding another company for any flooring needs.
I am not requesting any monetary compensation, as I feel that the sub-contracted installers deserve to be paid something for their work (whether or not the work was satisfactory or needed other repairmen to come fix it). My gripe is mainly with the owner and any management involved in the transaction. Being in the customer service industry myself, I cannot understand the downright neglect the staff at Floors 2 U displayed during my dealings with them. I have never experienced anything like that.
Review: The contractors hired to install our carpeting from Floors 2 U were a three man team, led by a man named [redacted], who was rude and unprofessional. At one point during the installation, [redacted] took a nap on our living room floor. He used vulgarity in casual conversation with my husband and me, and asked personal questions which were none of his business.The next day, following installation, we discovered that $64.00 was missing. $24 from my wallet which was in my purse on a kitchen counter, and $40 from a secretary desk in the dining room. When my husband called [redacted] to tell him what we had discovered, [redacted] immediately shifted blame to one of his team. The other two men on the team ([redacted] and [redacted]) called my husband and also denied taking the money. [redacted] told us that he would give us the money just so that there would be no hard feelings. We called our local police and filed a report of the incident. The officer recommended getting the money back from [redacted] if he was willing to come and pay us back. [redacted] did pay us back that evening, but did not at any time admit to guilt.We called Floors 2 U three times to speak to [redacted] the owner, once on Sunday 7/15 and twice on Monday 7/16. The phone rang with no answer and no voicemail system. We called during the store's open hours of operation. We are quite dissatisfied with the contractors who were sent to our home and proceeded to rob us. We want to know if there are any actions that Floors 2 U plans to take to make up for our distress, or to let us know that they are aware of the shady characters who do their work.Desired Settlement: We would like an abject apology from Floors 2 U. We paid them a substantial amount of money for carpeting, and they sent thieves to our home. That would be the very least we would expect. We want to try to prevent any other customers of theirs from being victimized in this way.

I had no idea of the serious nature of [redacted]'s unprofessionalism. I do know he is an unpolished personality, but in all my years of dealing with him, have never once received a complaint of this nature, and his workmanship has always been good. He has been suspended of all new jobs for the time being and has been reprimanded for his behavior. As far as the theft accusation, I have never known him to steal anything in the 27 years I have known him. He says he didn't steal anything and a man is innocent until proven guilty. That is as far as I want to go with that. I will be more than happy to offer the [redacted]'s an additional discount on any future purchase they make at FLOORS 2 U as a compensation for the behavior of [redacted] and of course, would have someone else do the work.
