Florida Cooling Store, Inc. Reviews (4)

I do not understand where some of this comes from. I never recommended the customer get a fanThe customer told me she was satisfied as I stood there with her and watched the air come out of the vents in the low 50's with the temperature outside in the high 90's.She has zero attic, with no insulation. In the hottest part of the day, the air conditioner has one vent going to the main part of the house and has one return in the hallway.I did see the drain backed up, and did see the cutoff switch cut off the outside unit when it was backed up, and I did add drain clearing solvent.I did pull and pay for a permit as per regulation, she did sign off on it as inspection was not required if she signed the permit exemption letter. The air conditioner is a new *** ton for a square foot house, and is the right size. The air conditioner is running as per the manufacturers specifications. It cools as it should, and it heats as it should.I cannot do anything else in this case.I did miss appointments one week as I was in an emergency job and I did communicate with her in the three day period in question. The air conditioner was cooling in this time, she was never down during this period. When I was on the way to her home she cancelled the appointment and complained to the Revdex.com. She had just had a new roof installed and she told me the roofers scammed her, then she is saying I scammed her, I have gone to the home multiple times and checked the system out, and when I am there, the system is running fine.I do not know what else I can do to satisfy this customer. When I am there showing her the readings and watching a system that is performing as it should, she said she was satisfied, then I see this response? I am very sorry she feels this way

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Hi [redacted],I was told to email you. I am responding to the message from Florida Cooling Store.I called [redacted] in July because my a/c was not working right. He would tell me a time and date that he was going to be here and not show up. Every reschedule, I had to call to see what happened and he gave me an excuse. He didn't even have to courtesy to call to let me know he was not going to show up.  When August was approaching and my 1 year labor warranty was almost up I decided to report him to the Revdex.com. That is when [redacted] finally came to my home, he said my drain was clogged. My drain was not clogged. He put stuff in the drain anyway and it went right down. It was dripping outside. He said he made some adjustments, said it was fixed and left. The next day the a/c runs and runs and runs when the temp outside gets to 85 or above. Then after two hours of running it stops cooling. The thermostat is set to 81 and the inside air temp reads 84.  I have to set the temp to 85 to get it to stop running then gradually lower it until it starts acting normal again. This goes on from approximately 1pm to 6pm daily. This is what it did previously to him coming and adjusting and unclogging a clog that was not clogged. If there was a clog, it would have leaked by now. No clog. I lived in this house for 12 years and never experienced this. I had a 16 year old unit that cooled better then this and never did this. The day after [redacted] supposiably cleared the drain, the a/c did the same thing.  [redacted] came back to my home the next day and told me we are having a heat wave to invest in a fan.  He said my ceiling and walls are hot, get a fan.  He said he made more adjustments. It still does not work properly.  The heat didn't work properly either but he said its supposed to come out cold after a while, these heaters are not made for the cold weather. He said the fan is supposed to run with nothing coming out. The heat is another story, Stupid me again, trusted him. He insisted that my a/c should not be inspected because the City of [redacted] does not require inspections for jobs under $5000.00 dollars. He said I signed off on it. Stupid me trusting someone who I found on Revdex.com with an A+ rating. So here I am with a brand new a/c unit that does not cool my home in the summer during the day and does not properly heat in the winter. I wonder if I should use the unit at all. And I am told I should get a fan. Not good.I am completely dissatisfied and do not trust [redacted] to come in my home ever again. I guess I am out $3900.00 and will have to find an honest company who can fix the problem.  I am just baffled at the past 12 years of summer heat I never had this a/c problem until I hired this company to replace the entire unit. This cannot be normal. I do not want to have any dealings with this company ever again.  I want this reported and Please do not rate him as A+. He is an F+ in my book. Thank You[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The drain was not clogged, if it was the a/c would have worked after you left. You had to come back the next day and you did tell me to get a fan due to the heat wave.  My roof is insulated. I am here 12years, this didn't happen with my old unit and we always have temps over 95 plus degrees here in [redacted]. Also I called you in July to come fix this. You set several dates to come out and were no call no show. I had to text you to see what happened. I have screenshots of those texts so don't lie like you did about telling me to get a fan.  You only came after I reported to Revdex.com. I also have pics of the thermostat reading inside temps higher then what it was set for, if it was the drain, it would have backed up by now and leaked. it would have also shut off. It didn't, I had to set the inside temp higher for the unit to shut off. Don't insult me. I am not as stupid as you would like me to be. **

I appreciate the concerns addressed in this complaint.Regarding the concerns, this is a unit that was installed 1 year ago with a permit pulled from the City of [redacted].  As we are registered with the state of [redacted], and [redacted], and the City Of [redacted] and the job was under...

$5000.00 an inspection was and is not required.   With the signed exemption which we filed with the city in a timely fashion, the permit was paid for and finalized.  After meeting with the homeowner to address her concerns, I stated that I would arrange for a courtesy inspection by the city inspector as well. The concerns about temperature and cooling were discussed.  In this visit I found a blocked drain, that would intermittently shut off the outside compressor causing the temperature to rise during the hottest part of the day, it happened to also be in a heat wave with heat index in the 100 degree area, so this was unacceptable.  After clearing the drain, and testing and going over the thermostat with the homeowner we both saw temperature readings from the supply vent that registered 55 degrees, with an outside temperature of 90 plus degrees.  We discussed the duct system in the home, and I did note that not having an attic space and having a ceiling temperature of 95 degrees in the living room, made it difficult in the hottest of conditions for the air conditioner not to have to run continuously in the afternoons to keep it at the desired temperature.I also checked the superheat, and subcooling of the outside condenser to make sure that the refrigerant level was at an optimum level.  I balanced the charge and determined the inside, and outside unit to be running at optimal condition.I do apologize for missing and rescheduling appointments the prior week, and explained that I was in and emergency job at a [redacted], and I was not able to make it to the home in time to address these concerns in a timely fashion. This was a brand new 3.0 ton [redacted] Heat Pump, 14 SEER installed to Code, and was, and is, the correct size for the home in which it is installed.I apologize for any frustration felt, and feel that we are in a good place with everything now.I look forward to servicing your heating and cooling needs now, and in the future.Thank you,[redacted]Florida Cooling Store Inc.[redacted]
