I had a couple of planned biopsies at this hospitalAfter repeated calls they gave me an estimate of charges that I will incur, few days before my proceduresTo start with they did not volunteer this informationSecondly and more importantly, I had no idea that I will receive any additional bills other than the hospital billNo one told me anything about it
After few weeks I received a pathology bill and when I spoke to that provider, they said it is the hospital who should advise me to expect this bill and she said there is no way to provide any estimate and patient has to pay whatever amount is billed after the factWhen I called the hospital, they said they are sorry if I was not verbally informed, but it must be mentioned in one of the documents I signed there
Thirdly when I asked her what else bills I will get, she says she does not know and I have to look at my medical records and see who all are involvedIf surgeon or anesthesiologist or other doctor is involved I will get billsHow do I differentiate who is hospital staff and who will bill me separately? Also, if the hospital itself cannot tell me what all bills I will get how can I plan to pay them
All I am expecting is to be told an estimate of all the bills that will be incurred as part of this procedure, before the eventSo that I can decide if I am financially comfortable to get it doneI can understand if this is the ER, but for a planned procedure is it not mandatory?
I cannot believe a reputed hospital gets away with such irresponsible treatment of patients by not giving them any idea of the financial burden
DrKarina *** lacks professionalism when it comes to mistreating a year old girlShe was extremely rude when asked my daughter to exit, who was simply translating in the roomChildren deserve respect!!!! She offered a sarcastic , unconsidered apology, which shows how unethical she isI do not recommend this doctor to anybody!!! All human beings regardless of gender, age, sex or religion ...MUST be treated with respect!!!
