Florida Hospital Reviews (29)

In July 2015, I went to Florida Hospital emergency room because I felt my blood pressure was highThe nurse who took my blood pressure told that it was just a little highConsidering that my blood pressure was not so high and the ER was so full of patients, I went home before seen a doctorA month later I received a bill from the Florida hospital for $I moved to Georgia in August so I was not aware of the billWhen I became aware of the bill, I went to Florida to pay the bill and they told I owed $
I asked how the bill went from $to $and they told me that medical procedures are expensiveI don't know why they increased the amount to $and can't explain to my why

Had surgery on 11/28/and paid the $1,deductibleHospital processed the bill to *** Feb2015, AFTER Fl Hosp was out of *** network
My account number is ***My $1,deductible co-pay was paid in fullDate of service was 11/28/Letters were sent to patients on June 8, stating Fl Hospital was no longer an in-network facilityThere have been multiple claims sent to ***, the last one Nov 18, *** did not receive the request until Fl Hospital went out of network so they would not pay the total bill of $23,Due to their late bill submittal I do not feel responsible to pay $7,I called Florida Hospital a number of times and have had zero resolution - just that the bill was sent to collectionsThe collection agency stated they may be able to drop the amount to $6,That amount is not fair because I paid my co-pay and was admitted as an in-network *** patientI receive approximately calls a week from Fl Hospital and a

I had a specialty lab testing done here that only Florida Hospital did and I was told them they an override would allow me to have it
I was instructed to have some platlet testing that only Florida Hospital performedI was hesitant because at that time Florida Hospital was no longer in network with ***I went there and I was told since this was a special test that only they performed they would make an exception and perform an override that would allow me to get the testing done and this would have *** pay as if it was in network

I was admitted at the Winter Park Florida Hospital on January 9, thru 18, of I was having abdominal pains I was later diagnosed with Diverticulitis I was seen by Infectious Disease MD *** Who requested that a midline by place on my left hand so that ten (10) units of antibiotic be administer by a nurse
I was released from the hospital on 18th of January an on the following day a nurse from Florida Hospital Home Infusion started to administer the first unitShe then thought my husband the procedure on how to administer the rest nine (9) units
On January 26, 2016, a year and nine days, I received a call from Karen who worked for Florida Hospital Home Infusion LLPShe told me that I have a balance of $922.88, which took me was a surpriseI asked her if she send the bill MedicareHer replied was Medicare does not pay for home infusionI told her that I will call Medicare and inquire for myself
I called Medicare and spoke to a customer service agent and aske

Inept initial "care" led to repeat visit & considerably heightened bill
This business continues to plague me for a bill in excess of dollarsI visited the Lake Mary location the evening of 1/(my birthday)/morning of 1/due to swelling/infection from a dental visitI was in extreme discomfort yet had to practically beg them to administer pain killersThe "nurse-practitioner" (yes - despite the pain I was in they elected to treat me via a nurse) prescribed doxycycline (not nearly strong enough to combat the issue) which led to severe swelling & an emergency trip to the ER the next day 1/This time they took my condition seriously & had me on IV antibioticsThe doctor even considered admitting me to the hospitalThat's how badly the botched the original visitNow they expect me to pay (interest included) for inept care causing me to needlessly suffer & my health to decline because they could not ameliorate the issue the first timeI paid over $dollars & my insu

Florida hospital east is the worst hospital to go toI went there tonight to have my side check out cause I was having some horrendous pain that was off the chart and all they did was tell me I had a UTI and didn't address my other problem which was my pancreasI've been having this problem now for over a year and this was the first time I hurt bad enough to go to the hospitalMy roommate was even with me and was shocked by how I was treatedShe goes to that hospital cause she has cancer and they treat her like a celebrityAnd when the nurse came in to give me my discharge papers that's when they told me of the UTI I took the paperwork put it in my roommates purse and said I still think some is wrongAfter she left my roommate said I should have waited until we was outside to say thatI asked her why and she said the nurse gave a look of discuss and rolled her eyesI'm sorry but this hospital needs so help with bedside mannerNo matter what everyone that goes there should be treated like number one no matter what the reason they went there to begin withI'm so upset with how I was treated that I'm never going to any of the Florida Hospitals ever againIf I have to go to a hospital again I'm going somewhere else

Use of my name and address for a non dependent family member
I have been unable to contact anyone at the hospital to assist me in resolving this issue I received a bill from a third party vendor using my name and address requesting payment for services rendered to a non dependent family member who specifically has their own residence and is financially responsible for themselves I brought this circumstance to the attention to the third party vendor and was told to disregard this bill I would like to ensure that my name and information is not associated with anyone other than those specifically living at my address That information would have been obtained through Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs where my family member obtained care I am deeply concerned that my personal information should be accessed and used in this negligent manner

The experience at Florida Hospital, Altamonte Springs location was acceptable when it came to treatmentHOWEVER, when the "patient financial specialist" came in to my room to update my personal information (billing and home address, phone number, etc) she did not seem to ACTUALLY update itSome time had passed since I was discharged and I went to registration to inquire about my bill, knowing that I would have a balance but had yet to receive a statementThe woman at the registration informed me that my address had NOT been updated (even after I updated if with the finance specialist) so I gave her my updated address againI later received separate bills, one for the Emergency room visit and one for imagingI paid those in full withing days of receiving themweeks after, I begin receiving calls from a collections agency (HRRG Debt Collector)When I asked from where, they informed me it was from the Emergency rooms' providerI informed them that since I had never even received a statement I was unaware that I had an outstanding balanceThey told me I was supposed to update my address with the financial specialist at dischargeI informed them that I had done that, TWICE just to make sure and still never got the billThe harassment and emotional distress of the calls from the debt agency could have been avoided if the person whom I updated my address for at discharge from Florida Hospital would have done her job properly
