State Security is charging me an early termination fee which I don't believe applies to my specific circumstance.
In May 2018 I purchased a house in *** which already had a security system in place however there was no active monitoring. The system itself belongs to me.
I called *** State Security *** to contract the monitoring service and they sent a technician. He installed wireless smoke detector which I purchased for $100 and installed a cellular communication device. This cellular device is property of *** All in all, I paid $275.60 for a smoke detector and the installation of such detector and a cellular device.
I now need to sell my house because I'm moving to *** and *** tells me that the commitment was for 60 months (5 years) and wants to charge me an early termination fee. Yes, this is written in fine print in the document I signed when the technician came to activate the service however these types of agreement are popular when the security company leases you the security system and installs it in your home but this is not the case; I own the security system and whatever costs were associated with activating the monitoring service I paid during the technician visit.
I'm asking you to help me waive the early termination fee which by the way they are yet to tell how much it is.
My house will be listed for sale next week and I need *** to come and pick up their cellular communicator.
I need *** to go to my house and take their cellular device and drop the early termination charges. Upon their visit I will give them the check for monitoring service of February for $ 37 dollars and change.

To whom it may concern:
We received a letter indicating there was an issue with this customer, ***. The issue seems to be he signed a five year contract with us in May of 2018, and he has indicted he believes he should only be held to the contract if his equipment is owned. That
is not the agreement he signed with us. We have different rates for different types of coverage. If he wanted to go month to month
we would have charged a higher rate. His contract has not been fulfilled, not even half of it. The contract he signed with us is a
valid contract. However, we would rather release this customer from his contract, and conclude any and all business dealings with him. As a courtesy we will waive the 3 years remaining on his contract.
