Florida Title and Guarantee

Florida Title & Guarantee Agency was recommended to us by our realtor. Having had only one prior experience with a title company in South FL before, we honestly thought that title companies were all pretty much the same. WRONG! At a time where stress levels are at their highest, the last thing you are looking for is for someone / a company, that you are paying good money to, to add to that stress. The short: despite countless emails and voicemails to at least three parties at Florida Title (by us, the purchasers, our agent, and the purchasers' agent) we were unable to get in touch with Florida Title for several days leading up to the closing day. Florida Title jeopardized the sale of our house and the purchase of a new house (and the loss of substantial deposits). When they finally did respond to us (now just a couple of days prior to closing), their VP was belligerent and did everything he could to try to point the finger at us (despite the fact that we had tried to be proactive at least a week prior and that we were told that the delay was as a result of one of their agents being out sick) - a real class act. The moral: title companies are NOT the same and Florida Title & Guarantee Agency should be at the very bottom of your list.
