Flower Publishing, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: dI have been a good solid customer of Flower Publishing's Barter Club NYC. I have purchased tickets and have received good service from this company over the years. I had 2 recent small issues in which I contacted the company to discuss. They were not large issues and I knew that they could be successfully resolved. One involved a gift certificate I had purchased from The Barter Club for a Hair Salon. The gift certificate was unexpired. When I gave the gift certificate to a party to redeem it, the owner of the salon said it was expired. He didn't want to fully honor it.I contacted the Barter Club. Spoke with [redacted]. He understood the issue and, without my even requesting it, offered to send me replacement gift certificates for another spa and/or restaurant. I was very satisfied with his offer and he sent the certificates. He also told me that he was glad to know that this salon owner didn't honor the gift certificate and that he would not be using his salon again. He also stressed that it's helpful to use the gift certificates within a timely fashion. No problem. I received them. When they arrived, one of the 4 new gift certificates was faded out. THe other 3 were easy to read and legible. The fading on the certificate was such that one could not read the address of where the certificate was to be redeemed. Since the other 3 were fine, I again contact The Barter Club and reached [redacted] again. I politely mentioned that one of the gift certificates was faded and he said " It's fine, just use it" in a stern tone. I continued to explain that I would be more than happy to just return the one gift certificate in exchange for a cleaner version as I give these certificates as gifts. I wanted the party who would receive it to be able to use it easily. To my shock and dismay, [redacted] stated in response: " Don't bother sending it back . I will send out another one . We make the certificates here but do not use our service again. " When I started to ask him why he would say that, he hung up.Desired Settlement: I would like to continue my business with the Barter Club NYC and be able to use their services. I am prompt with my payment and have never been a problem for this agency. My history indicates I have been a longer standing good customer. So I would like this status reinstated. I didn't do Anything to deserve this type of treatment. I also feel it would be appropriate for [redacted] to apologize for his extremely rude, inappropriate behavior.

Business

Response:

I had responded to [redacted]

email and letter that was mailed to me. Below was my response. I find it odd

anyone would even contact the Revdex.com on an issue like this when she was

generously compensated and additional $200 worth of gift certs. Our company

has gone beyond policy to make her happy. Filing a complaint with the Revdex.com

after I had already responded to her issues which came out favorable to her

is abusive to what the Revdex.com system is really all about.

[redacted],

I spoke to [redacted] about this ordeal. Our policy is to refund or to

replace any certs bought from our club should the place go out of business

within a years time or should a show close. You can't hold onto any certs

after that. Even if they are from 2011 and don't have en EXP date. If you

don't use them we can't be held responsible, they are good when you buy

them, the business may close or be sold and have a new policy. So I

suggest in the future to use whatever you buy in a timely period.

[redacted] also mentioned to me he gave you $200 worth of restaurant certs

(at no charge) to assist you from another issue you had. This was against

company policy and he has been talked to about this. He also mentioned to

me that you had a sarcastic tone when talking to him while he was trying

to help you and that was the reason he said what he said to you.

In any case, I have reinstated your email in our list. If you have any

issues feel free to reach out to me. [redacted] has been notified.

Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

Please forward this response to [redacted].

I had not heard from [redacted] until yesterday. I did not receive a response of any kind to my two outreaches to him until yesterday. Yesterday [redacted] contacted me to let me know [redacted] wanted to speak to me. I called your office this am [redacted], Friday 11/** and left a message for you. They told me you would be out of the office until Monday.

I am more than happy to accept this resolution. Thank you. I simply wanted the ability to utilize your service. I can assure you that no sarcasm was in my tone with [redacted]. That fact is not accurate. Perhaps [redacted] is using this inaccuracy to explain his behavior.

But nonetheless, all I was seeking was the ability to continue my service with your company and be treated respectfully. I resorted to utilizing the Revdex.com as [redacted] hung up on me inappropriately and I had not heard back from you. So I wasn't sure how to reach you to have this matter properly resolved.

I am sorry if [redacted] did not follow company policy in sending out certificates etc. I did not request a single certificate from him. I was merely notifying him of the expired issue. It was kind of him to offer but that was not my expectation. So if you spoke with him about that matter, that is between you.

Going forward, I just expect to be treated respectfully as a good customer of your service and trust you have informed [redacted] of this. Thank you.
