Floyds Knobs Body Repair, Inc. Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted]

Attached is a picture of Floyds Knobs Body Shops parking lot, an invoice from the mechanic at which the car was repaired and an audio recording of the conversation that took place between myself, [redacted] and my father. After reading [redacted]'s response to my complaint I noticed some things did not make any sense and also that he lied about the distance the car was moved on his lot (0:42 seconds into the audio file.) My partner went the morning of 12/12/2014 to speak with [redacted] about these discrepancies in his story. [redacted] states in his initial response to the Revdex.com that "When the car was moved here at the body shop we moved it to the paint shop which is also onsite. When we went to start the car to move it around in the paint shop it would not start." On the attached picture the star symbol indicates their lower parking lot where her car was dropped off by myself initially. The lightning bolt represents their body shop. The triangle represents their paint shop. So by [redacted]'s own account, the odometer had 82.697 miles on it (verified with their own photo.) The car moved from the parking lot, to the body shop and then down to the paint shop where they then tried to start it to move and it would not run or drive under it's own power. [redacted] said the car was then taken back to the body shop by a truck, not known if it was a roll back or it was pulled up with the wheels on the ground. Being very generous to [redacted], the car moved AT MOST 600ft under it's own power and then stopped running. Again by his own account the odometer read 82,697 when the car was running and they started to move it. Their own picture of the odometer also clearly indicates no check engine lights present. The car had 82,699 miles on it arriving at the body shop. The car at a BARE MINIMUM moved 1.1 miles, because of the odometer not reading tenths, while on their lot most of the time having to be pushed or put on a roll back to be moved. So there is at a minimum 5200ft which is just under a mile, the car would have had to be pushed around the lot.  When my partner asked [redacted] why he changed his story from when we had our conversation at his office about the distance the car moved he said he didn't and never said that it only moved 50ft.  My partner then played the recording of [redacted] saying this verbatim. His only explanation was that it was a "microscopic difference." [redacted] kept asking how it could be his fault in any way the car jumped timing while in his possession, on his lot, with his employee(s) behind the wheel of it.  So he called [redacted] (the owner of [redacted] auto) and asked her. She told him that indeed just starting the car up and moving it around could jump the timing in it, not even including the unaccountable mileage that was put on the car. [redacted] proceeded to ask my partner over and over how it could have been their fault when [redacted] clearly told him moments before. The only explanation [redacted] has for the extra mileage is that the car may have been moved around the body shop while it was not being worked on.  In the attached picture you can plainly see the size of his top lot.  Being generous again, we'll say the very back of his body shop to the edge of the upper parking lot is 200ft.  The car would have had to have been moved from the back of the shop to the parking space [redacted]26 times[redacted] in the 7 business days the car was there! The explanation is insulting to me and in my opinion a bad lie to cover a mistake made on their part. Also in the their initial Revdex.com response they claim the dipstick had no oil it and was 1.5qts low on oil, which they added. [redacted] told my partner on the day they advised me my car was not running it was one quart low so they put oil in it and it still did not start. No mention of no oil on the dipstick and the extra half quart.  There is absolutely no proof of this not even a charge for oil on their invoice. Why they did not call me as soon as the car stopped running, instead of playing mechanic, is beyond me and still do not have an explanation.  To this day they can't tell me for certain what day the car stopped running.  My partner also asked for the time and date stamps on their original digital photo that was uploaded to the insurance company 7:00AM  11/18021014, 23 hours after the car was dropped off.  They could not provide that.  Taking into account their changing stories and overall terrible handling of the entire situation, it is of my belief that they are lying to cover up wrong doing on their part and the next course of action will be hiring a civil attorney and taking the matter to court.

[redacted] brought her 2006 cobalt in for repairs on Monday November 17, 2014. The repairs were to the Left side of the rear bumper and to the Left Rear Quarter panel (l have included a copy of the Repair Invoice and Pictures of the repair area). We do schedule cars in on Mondays so we can try to...

keep from having the cars over the weekend but due to unforeseen damages and parts delays we cannot guarantee our cus[redacted]ers a completion date. On this car an additional part had to be ordered which delayed the repairs on this vehicle a couple of days. When the car was here at the shop we moved the car from the Parking lot where [redacted] dropped it off to the body shop onsite and then moved it to the paint shop which is also onsite. When we went to start the car to move it around in the paint shop it would not start. [redacted] called to check on her car on Monday November 24 2014 [redacted] advised [redacted] about the problem with her car. Due to the car showing not oil on the dipstick we added a quart and a half of oil and we did put a battery charger on it and tried to start it one time but did not go any further. We asked if she had a mechanic she wanted to have look at the car and we offered to tow the car to where she wanted it to go at no charge. [redacted] advised us she was going to send someone down to look at the car. When her partner came by we ran the codes on the car and it came back with a code P0300 which is a code for engine misfires which [redacted] au[redacted]otive where [redacted] took the car later diagnosed that it was triggered by the car jumping time. [redacted] advised us that she wanted her car towed to her house. We towed the car to her house at no charge and then when my driver got back her dad called us and wanted us to tow the car to [redacted] au[redacted]otive in Jeffersonville. So my driver went to [redacted]s house picked up the car and took the car to [redacted] au[redacted]otive again at no charge to [redacted]. On December 1,2014 [redacted] came by and [redacted] did a conference call with [redacted] and her dad. [redacted] took down the information of the mechanic shop and told [redacted] and her dad he was going to look into the situation and get ahold of the mechanic shop and talk to them because he wanted someone to explain the reason why the car jumped time and for someone to explain how this could be our responsibility when we worked on the left rear corner of the car. The same day [redacted] talked to [redacted] at [redacted] au[redacted]otive and she said there was nothing that we could have done to make the car jump time and that the engine in that car is known to have problems with jumping time and that the engine was just a poor design (I have included documentation on this issue with this engine. [redacted] has accused the shop of driving the car for 16.6 miles while the car was here. When the car was dropped off the pictures were taken of the car for the insurance company and a picture of the odometer was also taken and the odometer on the day that she dropped the car off (Which I have included a picture of) reads 82,697. According to [redacted] when she came in for the conference call and we also called [redacted] au[redacted]otive to verify the car now has 82,699 which is 2 miles but could be less due to tenths not being present. We have looked into the situation with [redacted] car and no one not even the mechanic has provided an explanation on how this could be our responsibility except for this is just a known problem with this engine.%3
