Flushing Grand Hotel Reviews (3)

A friend of mine is in from France for work purposes and stayed at Flushing Hotel One day he stepped out for 5hrs and came back to learn his *** (foreign identification card with picture) missing He swears he placed it on the table, nowhere near the trash and when he confronted the desk and then manager, not only were they not helpful, they treated him horribly and yelled at him They told him is he thinks someone touched his things he should leave
He continued to plead with them and asked that they narrow down the cleaner that cleaned his room at that time, which they did, she said she threw it out!
My friend was calm but beyond nervious as that is a needed travel doucment to enter back into France When I met him the next day I hoped to get a better understanding as to what the hotel manager, Michael **, was planning to do about something so importanat having been swtolen from his guest, I swear I thought the man was going to beat the hell out of me and he terrified me I called the police, he left and pretty much had a young front desk attendant address them and claimed that if they want to look through the garbage, well, it was already taken by the trucks sotough The police, although they agreed that criminal activity does SEEM to have occurred, they couldn't do much to help
Throughout my friend's stay there and my time waiting, speaking to the police, I noticed way too many woman coming in and out and it was just strange Bottom line, the police informed us that this hotel is known for prostitution and police are called all the time Although they feel horrible for us, there is nothing they can do but take a report We were shocked and of course felt helpless Someone out there has an important identification card with this man's information and picture on it It has been a massively unsettling situation
My poor friend has been back and forth at the embassy during his stay here and has exasperated all options to get an emergency visa in order to make his flight tomorrow (8/*/15) I don't think that will happen and will cost him not only lots of time, but lots of money All because an employee of this horrible hotel decided to steal it and if not stolen, decided to go to the desk across the room away from the trash and "throw it in the trash" ?!! Regardless of what they want to CLAIM occurred, his belongings were touched even though the hotel staff had no authority to go near those items
It just all doesn't make sense is very scary
The manager is by far the worst man I have ever spoken to, he was quite scary
Please help

One day he stepped out for 5hrs and came back to learn his [redacted] (foreign identification card with picture) missing. He swears he placed it on the table, nowhere near the trash and when he confronted the desk and then manager, not only were they not helpful, they treated him horribly and yelled at him. They told him is he thinks someone touched his things he should leave.

He continued to plead with them and asked that they narrow down the cleaner that cleaned his room at that time, which they did, she said she threw it out!

I called the police, he left and pretty much had a young front desk attendant address them and claimed that if they want to look through the garbage, well, it was already taken by the trucks so... tough. The police, although they agreed that criminal activity does SEEM to have occurred, they couldn't do much to help.

Review: I have NEVER experience such HORRID customer service in my life and I am a avid traveler. If you are expecting to have a clean, friendly, relaxing experience sleeping in a hotel, look elsewhere. This place smells like stale cigs and vomit. NO JOKE. im not a picky person. I just care that I have television and that the beds are clean and the bathroom looks maintained. The room was kind of clean. I didn't really feel dirty here but what happened next is just a joke! It was the last of four nights staying here. we went to a comedy show in Manhattan and came back. our flight left at 9 am the next day, so we had needed to pack up and stuff and planned on checking out around 6:30. We went to open the door and it didn't work. came downstairs and told them and they came up to try to open it. after realizing the card dealer was broken, he said "well what we can do for you is let you sleep in that room (right down the hall) for free tonight. I said "we have a flight to catch in the morning!!! when can someone be here to open the door?" he said "well someone comes at 6 but the person who can probably open it comes around 8 or 9" .......are you kidding me........ so I had to switch my flight, resulting in a $250 fee for EACH TICKET!!

the next morning I called down at 7 and said...is someone here yet to open the door...nope...

called at 8....here yet???.....nope

they called me at 8:30 to ask what time I left the night before to go out..please explain to me what that has to do with ANYTHING?!

so (still wearing the same clothes I was wearing last night) I marched down to the front desk...and they literally made it seem like it was my fault. they said if I would have told the front desk that we absolutely needed to get in the room, they would have called someone. I said "I told the guy I had a freakin flight to catch!! and that all of our medicine and stuff was in that room"

they said well its your word against his.

HAHA!! what a joke!!!! they then said that the most they could do for me is to NOT charge me for the room we had to sleep in.

so I paid full price for my room there, I not only slept in my street clothes, but am [redacted] and was without my insulin, AND had to pay over $500 do reschedule my flight. I had to pay more in taxi fees. I had to rearrange my ride to pick me up at the airport. and all they did was say "sorry"

I have emailed, called, left messages, etc and they refuse to do anything for me.

I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER stay there or recommend them to my worst enemy!Desired Settlement: I wish to be refunded for at least one full night of stay. I also wish receive a free voucher for my next trip to new York to stay there. I was charged $500 to reschedule my flight do to their problem, so that would be nice if they could give a little more than just one night stay.
