Review: Purchased a pub-style table with 2 chairs on 8/7/2012. The set is rarely used as we (my husband and I) rarely sit in the kitchen. On 3/3/2013, my 170lb husband sat on one of the chairs. I then heard a loud sound. I went into the kitchen and found the chair turned over and my husband on the floor. The legs of the chair were twisted and bent. The welding of the chair failed and it gave way to a horrible fall. The chair collapsed to the floor pulling my husband down with it. Tried to contact the store several times after the incident, but the call was diverted to a fax machine. Finally got through on 3/4/2013 and left my name and number with an [redacted]-speaking female for the manager to return my call. The [redacted]-speaking female informed me that the manager's name is [redacted]. As of this writing, the manager has not returned my call. Tried to call again on 3/7/2013 and again the calls were diverted to a fax machine. I contacted the [redacted] manager's office for assistance in contacting the store. They lady that answered said she would send the security guard to the store to inform them that their phone is being transferred to a fax machine and for me to try again later. That worked well, but when I called the store I didn't realize the drama I would face. The same [redacted]-speaking female answered the phone. I asked for the manager and she said the she wasn't there. I asked her if she had given my message to the manager and she said she had. She asked if she could help. She asked for the invoice number which I didn't have at that time and asked if she could look in their records to find it. She refused and asked for the invoice number again. I attempted to allow the [redacted]-speaking female to help, but had a difficult time understanding her language. I told her that I would prefer to speak with the manager. Then she began yelling on the phone and stated "I'm the manager now". I asked for her name and then she asked me for my name. I told her my name, then she told me hers (I think) I didn't understand what she had said so I asked her to spell it for me. She hesitated then disconnected the call. I called back and again the phone was diverted to a fax machine. I attempted to call a few more times the same day and again on 3/8/2013 and each time the calls were diverted to a fax machine. On 3/10/2013 I filed a consumer complaint in Virginia. Since then they have exhausted their role by sending two letters to FM Furniture but as of this writing has not received a response. This issue has not been resolved or responded to. I called FM Furniture on 5/20/2013 and spoke with [redacted] who informed me that the manager's name is [redacted].Desired Settlement: Expected outcome: FM Furniture should make arrangements to pick up the defective pub-style table with 2 chairs or pay for delivery services and provide a full refund of $314.99 which represents the purchase price.
